  1. Just took me two hours from Tonbridge to Sidcup umpteen roads shut including the A227 at Wrotham, lorry slid off Rd on M20 ,snow plough on tractor doing back lanes but making it worse be piling up on sides .. trees worse worse problem with them hanging over rds ,looks like Kent County Council sent one bloke and a shovel and bag of salt out ..chaos..
  2. Well there it is.. the back end of it just coming over Eltham..couple hours too you then gone ..
  3. I see snow falling in Sidcup from a heavy shower about half one you could see it streaming out of the cloud ..but oh to be 2000 ft higher lol
  4. 550 ft to settle..came over 500 ft hill nothing ..got to Wrotham tower over 550ft maybe 600 ft at top..it is a little white ..nothing anywhere else on my journey to work anyway
  5. can you see though a circulation trying to form over the Brecon beacons along the front ,helpful or hindrance ...that is in your court nick .. ?
  6. mate we had a cracking year,1987 if your a weather extremist was a year in a lifetime ,what with the snow ,cold ,wind in October, once in a lifetime experience for me in Medway ,i lived by Medway crematorium, the wind was perfect big hefty showers scooted just past Harwich ,sheerness never took the viciousness out of them either straight down the Medway over the towns on to bluebell, Boxley,Detling hills took the brunt ,windy too ,so waist high drifts ,all Kent kopped it i think ,but you couldn't move for days ,then in October everything was flattened ..strange year
  7. If your downs (south) don't have anything ,then your having long drive and a toss up if Crowborough,Ashdown ,etc is worth it ..if any thing go westward ..high hills west would be my best bet ,but if its snowing on devils dyke your laughing
  8. *. Wednesday morning rush hour could be fun. *. Rush hour in the snow, rush hour in the rain ,rush hour in a heat wave ,any weather really, its never fun , but snow least makes it exciting...Will I or won't i get to work or school etc etc ,thats the greatness of it,sends everything normal strange ,love that bit
  9. Well Bob i can honestly say other than mid December when every bob.,dick and Harry got some snow ,nothing has really happened ,its like you said been a bit meh,not that I know what that means but I guess its been like it,we are wishing on a star I think but ...it does remind me of a book and film if anyone can remember called...the last snows of spring ,quite sad really
  10. But not you ? Your only a few miles from me mate, stones throw obviously i dont now where in Gillingham you live but my step father lives there and he's not to much lower than bluebell hill tbh ,less like me you live by the river..then I understand.. but top half of Rainham/ Gillingham is high if you call the downs high ..I've as much chance as you I think (if any ) that's keep our fingers crossed ... Ps ..don't chase snow ! like storms, it only ends in tears ..trying to get pictures.. but stuck for hours
  11. Bright as a biscuit this morning here , which is nice ,last couple of days its just been leaden
  12. I love capel le ferne ..ide like too know who let the water through ..because it all ..'with white cliffs and all, ends suddenly' what with the varne,Goodwin, sandettie, all the high points in the channel 'dangerous for shipping ' was maybe part of the downs at one time , feels like when you was a kid and you watched the tide take your sand castle away ...:( oh and dogger bank which was an island in its own right ..:)
  13. No beach balls just snow balls No beach balls just snow balls , my dad lives in moraira Eastern Spain by the coast and I spoke to him monday and he said we haven't had any snow here yet but its bloody freezing reminds me of working at Denton wharf at Gravesend in a Easterly
  14. Yea strange one, but nothing even on the highest hills but cold, coldest, rain not even sleet ..but interesting if you like that sort of thing..:)
  15. Dull as dish water isn't it ..cold because no sun ..not like yesterday , sun comes out its balmy ..6 c nagging north easterly in Meopham no precipitation, puts people off winter doesn't it
  16. Yea I know what you mean..but latest gfs run ..its thinks it could be the artic high pushes down ..yea yea .. for cold and maybe a bit of snow ,otherwise it is the azores in disguise its playing with it ..or its playing with the model..either way if it is genuine artic high then that's SSW..if it decides its trying to push azores north its gonna get flattened like a hedgehog on a motorway....but we can hope
  17. Yea thats what we was saying before ...dont drive Kent way ..there isn't many sticks left mate..:(
  18. Like I said.. if you took East Anglia out of the way Kent wouldn't have get wind spot on would it Which in a few thousand years with sea level rise it won't be.. but but by then it with be tropical ..cant win can we lol
  19. Oh sorry lottie ..even here in the barrenest place we had something which is lucky to say the least ,there is so many things you need to put in to place here (especially now) to get a even small covering of snow its hard work looking for it ..if the high is in charge it will sit naturally between azores and Portugal with out a doubt ...its sad when you have to look at SSW for a bit of snow ..then its a toss up ..I think its to much temperature miss match that drives jet as you know ..its like self leveling..which for our children's children's sake stops them frying in the future ...ill take no snow for them to have normal seasons
  20. Jacko mate ..nothing...I loved the December snow because it was wide spread...up high down low we all kopt it ..shouldn't have to run to the hills to see it in winter ..spring this this week though ..what is convection can't seem to remember lol:)
