mate we had a cracking year,1987 if your a weather extremist was a year in a lifetime ,what with the snow ,cold ,wind in October, once in a lifetime experience for me in Medway ,i lived by Medway crematorium, the wind was perfect big hefty showers scooted just past Harwich ,sheerness never took the viciousness out of them either straight down the Medway over the towns on to bluebell, Boxley,Detling hills took the brunt ,windy too ,so waist high drifts ,all Kent kopped it i think ,but you couldn't move for days ,then in October everything was flattened ..strange year

But not you ? Your only a few miles from me mate, stones throw obviously i dont now where in Gillingham you live but my step father lives there and he's not to much lower than bluebell hill tbh ,less like me you live by the river..then I understand.. but top half of Rainham/ Gillingham is high if you call the downs high ..I've as much chance as you I think (if any ) that's keep our fingers crossed ... Ps ..don't chase snow ! like storms, it only ends in tears ..trying to get pictures.. but stuck for hours

I love capel le ferne ..ide like too know who let the water through ..because it all ..'with white cliffs and all, ends suddenly' what with the varne,Goodwin, sandettie, all the high points in the channel 'dangerous for shipping ' was maybe part of the downs at one time , feels like when you was a kid and you watched the tide take your sand castle away ...:( oh and dogger bank which was an island in its own right ..:)

Yea I know what you mean..but latest gfs run ..its thinks it could be the artic high pushes down ..yea yea .. for cold and maybe a bit of snow ,otherwise it is the azores in disguise its playing with it ..or its playing with the model..either way if it is genuine artic high then that's SSW..if it decides its trying to push azores north its gonna get flattened like a hedgehog on a motorway....but we can hope

Oh sorry lottie ..even here in the barrenest place we had something which is lucky to say the least ,there is so many things you need to put in to place here (especially now) to get a even small covering of snow its hard work looking for it ..if the high is in charge it will sit naturally between azores and Portugal with out a doubt ...its sad when you have to look at SSW for a bit of snow ..then its a toss up ..I think its to much temperature miss match that drives jet as you know ..its like self leveling..which for our children's children's sake stops them frying in the future ...ill take no snow for them to have normal seasons
