i think for most its been around 20-25mm at the very least, and there has been some localised flooding, so fair play to the MO for playing it safe. its pretty awful out there on the roads. just over an inch fallen here.
been quite heavy here, but the radar suggests nothing on the scale of yesterdays forecasts. id say weve had about 9/10mm of rain going by local reports since midnight. perhaps a similar amount to come before it fizzles out this afternoon. actually scrap that, most of it has passed now
all the atrocious weather is going to stay mainly south and east of us before decaying. looks like a dull, drizzly sort of day in prospect. woop, summers arrived!
going to be some high rainfall totals in places through the night i feel. rainfall has been pretty heavy over this patch for a good hour or so now, only just tailing away.
i cant believe alvechurch has only recorded 9mm today. been close to a washout today with around an inch in these parts since midnight. as you say, will be dribs and drabs tomorrow i suspect.
i actually quite like it. quite cosy to be indoors, keeps the weather varied aswell which is something i crave. as nice as sunny days are, i just like some variety, it doesnt rain ALL the time, and its what makes it british.
was atrocious driving back through telford about half an hour ago, a lot of spray and torrential rain. further east, and its clearing up somewhat, with the showers dying away.
dunno what all the fuss about this unsettled weather is. apart from northern scotland, most will be too close to HP to experience much if any precipitation next week onwards,
another non event for most of the region? wouldnt be surprised tbh, all the showers(albeit light) are stuck across shropshire/staffordshire atm, very little further south.
dry here now let the rain keep on coming, its making things interesting round here. seems like now the front has pretty much cleared there is some shower activity spreading northwards which could build.
there hasnt been all that much rain ya know, there is more than high pressure anyway, back on topic, and it looks like an end to the unsettled stuff temporarily, more sunshine and respite next week
tbf, we've had all the showers in the world over the last couple of days. ok, so no electrical activity, but it sure as hell beats no precipitation at all. todays just a respite from a good soaking. id prefer showers to no rain given the dryness of the last 18 months
been a pretty benign day compared to yesterday has to be said. rather messy looking sky with a fair bit of high level cloud, but nothing really on the horizon it seems. a relief to be fair, as i want to get out in the fresh air!
dull and damp here, moderate rainfall but fairly uniform cloud layer atm, wouldnt be surprised if the sun breaks through again though, albeit perhaps temporarily.
i think the phrase if it aint broke, dont try to fix applies here. it didnt need an upgrade; and its creating hassle by trying to be more modern. leave it as it is, so much easier and the general consensus is the same.
