  1. Woo hoo! First snowflakes of the winter in High Wycombe! Snowing very lightly but definitely there and falling on frosty ground I don't expect it to last long though!
  2. Rain and more rain here at the moment - for most of the afternoon so the ground is very wet. The car temperature said 6 degrees on the way home just now Just hoping it will get colder here overnight - but I don't think there would be any chance of it settling anyway given how wet the ground is.
  3. Just had Wendy Hurrell on BBC London saying that the cold air meeting the drizzle tonight could turn to snow in the Chilterns. She also mentioned snow showers on Wednesday in this area. Nw radar shows snow at the moment in High Wycombe but it is light drizzle as far as I can tell - however I don't live on one of the hills...
  4. I think that's probably it for me. A dusting anyway. Hope the rest of you get a good dumping
  5. Snowing fairly steadily here - about 1 cm on the grass and cars - not heavy enough to settle on the road. And I thought we were going to miss out altogether! Not sure how much there is to come though judging by the radar.
  6. We might have had a little bit of snow in the night but you wouldn't be able to tell now. There was a lot of sleet on the school run just now, but at the moment it's dry here. How disappointing.
  7. There doesn't seem to be much happening at all at the moment according to the lamp post :o
  8. Can anyone tell me why High Wycombe has a 0% chance of snow today on both the 10 day forecast and the 7 day forecast but on the home page it is now 70% for today? And which one is right?
  9. Even more splodging on the windscreen in Wycombe just now - even in the valley :o
  10. There is sleet on the hills in High Wycombe now, having had rain all day. Temperature on my car was 6C when I went out at 3pm and 4C when I got back at 3.45 - probably not very reliable but that's quite a drop!
  11. Back to rain here - it's washed away the tiny amount of snow we had earlier.
  12. Polish on my car? You must be joking Gone back to very light sleety stuff now.
  13. Just looked at the lamppost and we seem to have snow - looks pretty wet but definitely there. Actually massive flakes and settling on cars despite them being very wet from the rain earlier!
  14. It's raining in High Wycombe. I'm not holding my breath for much over the next couple of days. I live in the valley of High Wycombe and there was quite a bit of snow on the hills on Friday, but very little down here despite Bucks County Council recommending all the schools should be closed - a complete anticlimax. So despite all the BBC ramping for tomorrow night I won't be expecting much apart from rain rain rain, perhaps with a little sleet mixed in. At least that way I won't be disappointed.
  15. Can you send it down to us first? It's been mostly sleet all day
  16. Heard thunder a few times around 6am. Woke up to a horrible sleety snowy mess on the ground. A slight covering on the grass and cars but very wet. Now sleeting. What an anticlimax for somewhere supposedly directly in the firing line. Most of the schools in Bucks are shut following advice from the County Council but there seems to be no reason for that now - unless something might come later?
  17. Heavy snow in High Wycombe during the night for quite a long time with huge flakes (woke up and looked periodically!) but has only amounted to a couple of inches. I think it is very wet snow so hasn't mounted up. My daughter's school is open though.
  18. Well I'm very happy that the Met Office have put out the early warning for Bucks etc but the radar is showing sleet now. Haven't had anything in Wycombe yet though.
  19. Does anyone know if High Wycombe might be north west enough? It's my birthday today so please be kind
  20. Light snow in High Wycombe but it looks like a heavier shower might be arriving soon
