  1. did the graphics suggest that or did she herself say that? Can't see how London and Surrey get an early warning when Kent doesn't?
  2. News Channel is recorded throughout the night too. There is no decent forecast until Breakfast sadly
  3. I am simply gobsmacked at how much the charts have changed for just 24 hours away in the space of 8 hours whilst I have been out! Both GFS and BBC were showing the same thing this morning - the front clearing the SE by midnight Tuesday night. Now they are both showing the same but new scenario of a Low pressure developing 'somewhere' over Sern England tomorrow evening, causing a wrap around occlusion to develop and it looks like much of this region will miss out now. How odd and frustrating!
  4. 28 Oct 2008 I think. I remember a Low pressure developed over London, and a band of snow moving south got stuck north of London for hours before fizzling out. Kent stayed completely dry and snow free whilst counties to the north had a lot of snow.
  5. Hi guys, been at work all evening so haven't been able to keep up to date. I left at 3:30 with Kent looking good on the 06z NAE, now looking at the 12z NAE - how has it changed so much!?
  6. where abouts are you from Icebox? If you could add your location on your profile that would be handy
  7. It will change again Kold, just like it did this morning. We watch the next few NAE runs with strong interest Gold old Michael Fish on the local forecast
  8. It's on the BBC website now Looking at it more closely, the 2nd band is actually the same band as the first, but it's part of the wrap around occlusion http://212.100.247.145/fax/PPVI89.png
  9. ooh there goes the SE too doesn't really say much though! So.. an early warning for the Midlands then? or just nothing at all!
  10. From what I can see, that's probably more likely for Northern England as they are part of the same advisory?
  11. I'm interested in the MetO's "risk of a more significant disruption event on Friday." in the SE summary today - the charts are still not showing it on the FAX's etc, despite Tomasz showing it yesterday and Dan Corbett playing it down to a certain extent and pushing it into Saturday instead. This setup reminds me of the beginning of March 2005 when 30cm fell on the Downs because a stationary area of Low pressure was located over the SE.
  12. when was today's snow showers forecast? probably last night at the earliest. Don't worry about later this week at this stage, it could all change
  13. about 0.5cm on the floor from proper powdery snow here, been snowing all evening lightly on and off
  14. MetO update: More frequent and heavier snow showers are expected in the east and southeast, and perhaps some longer periods of snow here, with associated disruptive condition
  15. This is what Friday looked like after he said 'Now I don't want you to panic...'
  16. interesting to note, it's only the 3rd day of January and we already have above average days of snow laying here in this section of Kent! [average is 2 - 2.5, there has been snow on the ground everyday of this month]
  17. odd flake falling here and there, and the sun is still shining. Very icy roads mind!
  18. 41C in Adelaide on Thursday: http://news.bbc.co.u...r/forecast/283/  Quite a stark contrast to what the UK is experiencing currently!
  19. They weren't blaming you directly Neil! To an extent I'd agree with them.
