  1. Ooh another 1cm in the early hours, taking it to 14cm here
  2. ooh is that convection in the Estuary further east of this train? Could be good for my location if so...
  3. If it continues to expand eastwards I might be OK, but it's a really close shave for my location.
  4. So from Monday onwards we sit in a stagnant pool of cold air. The 850mb temps will be slowly increasing, but we have an inversion developing so staying bitterly cold at lower levels with a lot of low cloud, mist and fog, general anticyclonic gloom - can't wait, bring on next week! http://212.100.247.145/fax/PPVO89.png?1262905297857
  5. oh it's slowly moving away, but the dewpoint is dangerously close to 0C here!
  6. precip upgrade on BBC graphics for Sunday. Pinch of salt remember though...
  7. Low pressure centred somewhere around Hythe juding by latest radar, moving SWwards, some intense precip on the wrap-around in E Kent, Folkestone area, driftin southwestwards with the Low - this will affect Ashford no doubt soon.
  8. does indeed just look like a cold day with outbreaks of light and patchy snow, more like widespread flurries, according to the UKMO 12z model now visible on BBC graphics
  9. Difficult to tell, but the light snow falling here does have a sleety look to it
  10. Dunno if the warm sector of this Low pressure system is having an affect? Nevertheless it's still -8C up there! Must be something to do with higher sea temps causing sleet on the coast?
  11. Kent streamer, not a Thames streamer. Too much of a northerly component to the winds. Nevertheless, the BBC graphics don't look promising at all for the next 48 hrs!
  12. :cray: MetO regional forecasts sound a lot more promising than their graphics suggest? What's the latest BBC graphics look like, haven't seen them yet...
  13. I'm not saying we do! I'm just saying there is some very slightly milder air within the easterly flow which is what may make the snow fall as rain on the coast.
  14. the milder air is embedded within the easterly flow. It has gone south over the Med, then travelled north over E Europe and then westwards towards the UK. We are not within the 528 dam on Monday on this FAX: http://212.100.247.1...g?1262882087981
  15. To me looks the Low's centre is in the outer Estuary now? The showers there seem to be pivoting back westwards from a southeasterly direction earlie. This means that across Kent the wind is largely NW/W but across north Essex/Suffolk it's now Eerly of some degree? and more of a Nerly across NW Kent/SW Essex
  16. How odd, hardly anything on the radar! Nowt falling here that's for certain with the sun out. Max today was +0.2C, just missed out on an ice day! Now down to -0.1C
  17. darkening here too but it is actually snowing very lightly, just a flurry, but a persistent one at that - perhaps too light to be detected? Nevertheless, it is cloudy which is stopping that sun from melting anymore snow for the time being. Still at 0.1C though
