  1. Yes, definitely a westward movement evident now on this stream. Expecting it to arrive here around 22:20 ish, perhaps a little later
  2. shall do, usually I get whatever Sittingbourne gets from these shower trains in the past few days. Could be a couple of hours before it actually gets there though. Good luck to you Steve for tonight onwards, you deserve some snow
  3. oh calm down! I am just as frustrated as you are, if not moreso look how close I am to that streamer! When the streamer does eventually move further westwards tonight as the winds take a more NEerly approach rather than the current NNEerly, then you will have a better chance. Basically when I get snow, you will further downstream
  4. this is actually quite frustrating because although each shower train is moving westwards, the consecutive one develops slightly to the east of the first one, so that the same places get continuous showers! grr
  5. renewed warnings into Saturday morning for a further 2-5cm widely, 10cm locally of snow in the usual counties
  6. not liking the angle of these showers, I am about 5-10 miles too far west from the trains. a bit more easterly in the wind would be ideal <_<
  7. thanks Neil, I appear to be right in the middle of two main 'trains' of showers, though they do merge together on the back edge so maybe something then.
  8. I drive up there, but like your scenario it will be my parents taking me and they aren't confident about the roads in the area at the moment - gawd knows how we are going to get out the housing estate lol. No buses are running either, I have too much stuff to take on the train, which themselves are severely limited and jam-packed when they do arrive. I suspect I may travel up on Monday instead, when everything has calmed down a bit. Hopefully the worst will be over by then. In some ways I prefer to stay in Kent for a couple more days, get to see tomorrow night's snow better than in Norfolk judging by the forecasts. 7cm at UEA, 16cm in my garden at the moment
  9. I need to be in Norfolk by Monday to recommence University (you'd understand as you have a child starting on Monday again at Canterbury). I am seriously not going to make it with the state of the roads as they are currently. Looks like I am going to miss a week of lectures at UEA, and don't forget I still have to pay for them even if I'm not there thanks to the Government loans these days... Snowing lightly here
  10. Interesting run of FAX charts for Sunday/Monday, the front gets stuck over the north of our region now, particularly Norfolk and Cambridgeshire - could be interesting!
  11. yes the BBC are showing rain for coastal areas of the SE on their graphics for tomorrow night.
  12. Blizzard-like conditions here, definitely blowing about this snow shower. Moderate intensity and sized flakes. Got a thin dusting on bare surfaces so far
  13. looks like arriving earlier than I had anticipated - must've started to move faster when the wind changed over the Estuary? Give it 10 mins or so for here.
  14. that was the Countryfile forecast on Sunday goes to show how much can change in a week
  15. I find it quite funny, most of us are glued to this one moderate shower moving south  Still it's been great fun comparing reports of snow falling with the radar, and working out which areas further down the line will be affected. Great community spirit on here, even if you are some 80 miles further north than me
  16. Unless it compltely fizzles out, there is no way you will miss this shower. Guess it will be with you at about 16:00ish
  17. unless this shower decays there is very little chance I am going to miss this
