hi all i think our winter isover as such, even if we do get a little of the white stuff it wont stay around and there are too many things growing on the trees now for winter to really kick back in. i may be wrong but going on the last good few years,when the stuff start growing like they have for the last 2 weeks it norm a good signal in my area that the worst is well and truly over.bring on the sun now i am ready for it lol. i hope it snows one more time for you guys but then lets have a nice long hot dry summer please.

temp is also showing 6 here and the mountains do still have large areas of snow, i can see the snow now the mist has lifted,quite a nice day to be honest i just hope we dont have the very strong winds that some are saying we will have,i hate the high winds,would be good if this welsh area and other local areas were kept open all year so we can talk about temps etc and compare.

very misty on the mountains this morn and not as cold of late,and as far as i can see up the mount i think quite a lot of the snow has gone with all the rain we had last night.it did say on the radio last night that we got 3 or 4 days of milder weather but then it may turn cold again,i myself would like one more good cold blast then for it to change to nice warm summer within 4 hrs and stay there until middle of oct then lots of cold and snow again and i also want to win the lottery and wales to win on fri ooh and euro lott after fridays game. whats my chances guys?lol

Andy that be good mate if that comes off,and i think you are doing a good job on this site to keep spirits up mate and to be honest i do go on other parts of this site and as a compleat novice, i think that some people on other parts do go way to far with their views about others (and other peoples posts)and in fact cant beleive the way some people act just because someone says something that they dont like. and at least you been keeping with the cold snowy weather and have not jumped ship with one model change,and this is not a dig at anyone it is just what i feel has been going on since 2nd week of jan. so thats my mad 3 mins now come on Andy lets have a good dumping of snow and then nice warm dry weather until middle of oct lol.

Andy you better put some of your snow in the freezer mate coz this rain will melt it in no time,in fact its raining so hard now i think there be nothing left up bwlch tomor morn.

hi all the snow has stopped here also but did stick a little but lots on mountains,in fact the bwlch mountain road has been closed again,i did try and drive up there but the sign is up showing closed,as you get to the top of nanty there is snow on pavements and roads slushy,but as you go towards bwlch it is snow on roads,so i bet the top of bwlch has had quite a bit.i will try tonight to go up when the wife fetches my truck home but was not chancing it in the car lol.

i think it should stop within 30 mins and then have a couple of showers,it has stuck on all surfaces up the bwlch and mountains are all white but very little stuck on roads cars etc.

i think height is the key again to be honest,its snowing heavy with me on and off but only sticking on grass and patches of ground but only 1 min away in the car up a hill its sticking everywhere.and further down my mate said it is snowing but not sticking at all.bwlch be good later lol,but the wife got my truck in work.

i tell you what if this does come thicker and heavier then it could be fun as the wind is quite strong today. and if it did last a good few hrs.looking at radar it will pass through in about 2 hr 30 from start to finish.maybe 3 hr but hopefully it may stall a bit.

meto now warn of upto 15cm for parts of wales, they warn just after it starts.

morning all,i got a feeling that we may see quite a bit of snow during today,if these temps stay as they are (cold) and that area comes over us it could hit us as snow on high ground anyway,but could even be snow at low ground.it does feel very cold today and my car is showing 0 c so fingers crossed we may get one last lot of snow beofre the milder weather comes in.

morning all as i said the band would move towards reading and london as it came closer,(not that im good at weather etc it was just a guess by the way it seemed to move)we only had very small showers of rain in the night.

Hi guys i just been looking at the radar and i think the weather heading up to uk will not touch wales,i think it will head towards reading and east. i may be wrong but i get a feeling by watching the radar it does seem to be heading that way, but it is very cold here.

Morning all well it did snow but if im honest,it was quite heavy and did stick,but nothing to shout and dance about and its raining as i type,so what is here is going very fast,i hope it either all goes soon so my sons rugby game is on or it snows lots and it is called off. hate it when its called off for just this amount.so is there anything for today? and what is the situation for monday now has it changed or is it still on?

the clouds have started to roll in here and it does feel a little milder,and i think i can see small fine flakes or drizzle but not going out incase some sexy women attacks me as it is sat night lol.

Hi all just had a look at radar and there is quite a large lump heading into wales, i think we could do well in some parts tonight,i just been out and it does feel very cold with thick frost.i wonder if Andy will let us have some outside our front doors tonight lol instead of having to drive up the mountains to see it. any idea what time this event should start around the bridgend area? good luck all i hope wales does well out of this tonight. lets hope its right this time Andy

that is cool,tell his daughter next week in school that her dad done well today in keeping it open. but normaly when we have snow they close it, well the snow does that but he shuts it so his kids can play all on their own up there lol

Hi guys i have just come back from bwlch,well half hour ago and the roads are open(thought they may be closed) but there is slight snow on the top,council did well, but there is a hell of a lot of snow on the very top, i would guess about 5 inches all about but where the wind caught the snow there are drifts, looks very good up there and the drifts are at least a foot deep in parts,would drifts be classed due to blizzard conditions? i myself didnt have one flake stick in my valley but decided to drive to andys address to confirm what he said about the snow and it was very bad there guys with heavy snow that was dry and it was being blown about at the top,im not saying as bad as on top of some mountains but he did have a very good day when most of us had sleet or wet snow,maybe andy does like to talk the snow event up but lets be honest if it wasnt for andy this thread would be boaring and he has had more snow than most of us this winter so i think he is the snow king of wales. but what i want to know is did you move up there Andy just so you would have more snow than us lol. i tell you what mate if we did have a very bad snow event you would be up there for weeks.

<BR>to be honest andy i missed the turn by the pub to go up the lane then went on further and sat nav took me another way then they had closed the road so went all way back to pub then up lane lol,by the time we got there and turned around we had to rush and pick up the mrs as we was going to be late for my boys training lol,when i was down by the pub i thought no way can it be as bad as you said but the further i went up that lane the worse it become and yes Andy did have the snow and it was still snowing while i was there,Andy i would have called in by didnt know what house but i did see a pajero covered in snow lol and didnt have time, i am going to take a ride up the bwlch now in the truck if its open,dont think it will be but i will get up there shall let you know what it finished like up there later.<BR><BR>

well all i did go to visit Andys blizzard,and if he does live at the post code he gave me (and i have no reason to think not) he is out in the wilds lol,no you got to travel up some lanes through a flood and after the flood it starts to get white and then thicker, i got there at 3.10 and it was snowing heavy with about 1 to 2 inches of lying snow.more than i had but not anywhere as much as the top of the bwlch,in fact the bwlch was very bad, height i think has made the diff today as on way back from andys place i went over gilfach goch and it was white up there also,not as bad as andys place but still some nice lying snow, so all bow to andy as he does live in a remote area that will get snow even in summer lol. what a lane andy,lucky i was in the truck as that pool (flood) would have ruined my car lol.

lol i got to go to Andys street,what area do you live in Andy as i got a spare couple of hours? JOO you want to go up the bwlch mountain mate there is a lot of snow up there but it is a high mountain,nothing down in the valley at all but i think height and temp is the key to where the snow lies,Andy pm me your post code so i can come and build my snowman,i would love to see the ponty blizzard.

Hi Andy it does seem to be doing what i thought in this area, rain Bridgend sleet ogmore vale and wet snow nantymoel, but to be honest i didnt think it would have been as bad up the bwlch as it is, so it does seem to be that height and temp are making a huge diff, in fact the bwlch may be closed as i type, we drove over about 12 and it was quite bad and snowing heavy,with wet snow in nanty and treorci but when coming back at 1.15 still wet snow treorci and nanty but the bwlch is awful in fact the snow is so heavy and dry there is 3 inches on the roads and it wont be long for it to close,on the very top there are drifts massing up.and the diff in temp is 2 c from bwlch to nanty and much higher in height of course. should be fun up there tomor if this keeps up,the snow is very dry and huge flakes up there but then it turns very wet within about 100 ft diff in height.

looking at the radar it shows rain or snow from swansea to bristol right now but it is very light drizzle here,it must be local or that we are far to west and also to mild at the moment.

gmtv just showed rain for some parts of wales this morn and then turing to snow this afternoon, but i have seen this sort of weather up here many times,and it norm goes like this rain down bridgend and sleet in ogmore vale, wet snow in nantymoel and then from mid bwlch mountain it turns to snow with top of bwlch getting blocked with very heavy dryish snow. and from what i have seen this morn with this happening unless temps drop dramatic i dont see any diff to be honest and as i said everywhere is wet now.
