the mountains around me are white and it is snowing heavy as i write but it has been rain sleet and snow down at groung level and everything is soaking wet so it would take quite a lot of heavy snow to make it stick, and it feels way to mild for it to snow at this time. but maybe it will get colder as the day goes on. fingers crossed lol

Hi all back with the van and must say it was mild while we were away,didnt need heating on in night as it would have been to hot,and i see no snow again lol, the models were saying snow for the last weekend but now i see its another 7 days away. so whats is the latest guys? i was driving home and saw very small amount of sleet in with heavy rain and was expecting to see some snow on top of bwlch mountain, but nothing at all and that is one of the highest about in s Wales.we have had very local heavy hail but no snow. have we seen the last of the snow or are we going to have more in 7 days, mind you we have been going to have snow for about a month now according to models,but it moves every 2 days further away.

well i am pleased this morn as it does look like we are only going to get rain in wales except for very high ground so i should be ok to tow on tues,brecon got snow on them i could see them from top of bwlch mountain and expect that they will see more in the coming days but every weather i have looked at is saying rain or sleet. i do want more snow but not until im home,i think the day time temps are way to high for snow to be honest and this morn we had shower and it was rain on top of bwlch so that shows something is changing.

Hi guys any news on what the weather is going to be like up until next tues? i am going away tomor in the caravan and got to tow it tomor and tues,so hoping there is not going to be any snow until tues night when we are home lol. i have been reading and some say snow from sunday but others are saying lots of rain from monday, i myself cannot read models etc but how come the people on model disscusion have such diff views from the same models? and another thing it looks to me that it may be back to 7 days away again for snow lol,i think they should blow these models up and go back to 3 day forcast because anything longer than 3 days it changes from run to run. no good for arranging towing vans etc lol.

ha funny, it is a ladies perogative to change her mind by the way (no it isn't yes it is no it isn't). You actually sound as frustrated as me with all the weather, if it were not the fact that I enjoy chatting to people on here, I would turn the computer off and just look out of the window everyday instead as it would be better really than building my hopes up and then 10 minutes later finding out that it has all changed AGAIN. but we are all in the same boat and I have to remember that it has been a good winter so should not be greedy, but I like being greedy. lol Oh and if I have learnt one thing this winter, it is not to tell all my friends that it is going to snow as now I constantly look silly and no one listens to me. lol

hi all been reading models chat this morn for ages and i have been reading for quite a while(since i joined) and it always seems that the real cold snowy weather is always 7 to 10 days away. if that is the case why bother to try and forcast what may happen and if i am correct the snow we has last month was predicited within 3 days. i know it has gone colder but last week we were going to be in the freezer by now. and the week before we was going to have +12 or higher. i also understand that the models are having a hard time right now but still dont understand how we seem to find it so hard to get cold snowy weather preditctions right, other countries seem to get things far more accurate. i may be wrong in what i write but has it always been like this in the uk to get the weather predictions right, we seem to be fine when saying its going to rain. and when we do get sun for that 5 days of the year lol. i also now understand not to trust any of the models because they change their mind more than my wife lol. as last week lots were saying 100% now that easterly was on as all models were saying so and that by now it would be freezing but now it seems that it has changed again.

we are going down somerset sea level,so i hope there wont be much snow there but i just heard on radio 1 that they had read in a paper that the snow that has hit america will move accross the water to us and give 30 inches of snow,i have not read this it was chris moyles etc talking about 40 mins ago,by the way there is grains of snow in the air here and a very slight white colour on bwlch mountain.

Thanks Andy for your advice and to be honest the cold is ok,been away in cold temps than that we put thermal blanket around water and if its that cold we wont use water,but any snow is a major problem,will have to wait until maybe fri to make a decision. trust it to come back to cold lol we like snow and cold but rather going away lol.

must have been raining here through the night, just noticed its wet out there and cannot see any snow on mountains. when will we have a better idea of what the weather will be for next sat,sunday,mon and tues,we have booked to go away on sat and towing our caravan and due back on tues,dont want to lose my money but rather that than the caravan and family,i waited to book and it did look like weather was going to be mild but it seems all has changed and next weekend and next week could be snowy.

Andy i hope your wrong on this mate, i like the snow but we have booked to go away for 3 days as its half term going on 13th, the day you say valentines Blizzard, would it be possible for you to delay until the 17th please just so we can make sure we are home. Dry and very cold until we come home then the mother of all Blizzards please lol.

i dont mind as long as it dont rain i hate the rain,now you had a grade 2 you will need a hat or you may catch a chill lol.

Andy get out the garden mate and do a snow dance because the wind down mumbles will do nothing for your hair lol, i think if these charts stay like they are some people will need anti depresants.

to be honest i would take anything other than rain, snow.// sun.// cold.//dry i dont mind but please no rain we have loads of that stuff during our fab summers lol.

bbc wales weather just showed could be possible snow from mid to north wales for tonight and tomor but did not go into detail.just showed rain for most of wales with mild air,showing 10 degrees for north wales tomor afternoon.and 8 for south.

just watched bbc weather for tomor and they went into detail about snow tomor and very slight chance on brecon and maybe the very top of north wales but slight,and then manchester and up snow,temps for tomor for wales showed 7 to 8 and for thurs 9. so it looks like the models that show low temps could be wrong and it does feel very mild today compared to what we used to.

i just drove over the top of a big mountain and it was pouring down with rain and temp was 6.8,unless it cools down a lot i cant even see us getting sleet,weather on tv this morn showed 8 degrees for tomor in s wales and mid wales with a chance of some snow for the very top of north wales and lots of snow for scotland tomor. and thier temps showed 2 degrees on tv cant remem if it was bbc or itv.

i just came in from taking the kids to netball and everyone was saying coming out how much warmer it is tonight,and they were all in shorts lol,i also dont think there will be any snow for wales this week,maybe on top of brecon but cannot see it anywere else at all but it does look better for the long term( well maybe) i think its up in the air and could go either way. i hope it goes back to the cold and we get snow but if not i want summer to arrive faster and stay longer.

doesnt loo like we are going to stay cold as from now,bbc wales just showed the week ahead and its all rain right up to friday. i think like many other things in our country, the forcasts may be underfunded compared to other countries as im sure we have got people who would be able to work in nz or usa without any problems.or as you said we are just not allowed to go over the top in the forcasts. or it could be i dont know wat im talking bout coz im very new to this weather game lol.

i have just been outside as i thought there was rain on my car and maybe it did rain but it is solid ice now and the ground is ice also,i think the road may be quite difficult tomor morn.

well it looks like its going to get a lot milder from weds now guys as all the models agree that no beast from the east,well for quite a while.i have only got this from reading other posts as i dont know how to read the models but everyone on model output all say that this is the case. to be honest these models for long distance forcast dont seem to be very good from what i have seen.

nothing fallen here either but its very cold,looks like it could be a nice sunny day.

Hi all i have not been on today so just read model output and lots of people having a good old ding dong on there today lol, but quite alot of people are going for very mild weather to come in now.what i dont understand as a novice, if they say on bbc or itv we are going to have lots of rain for say a week you can bet their right, but when it comes to cold or snow it just does not seem to be as easy, i know there is probs a easy explaination but i dont know it lol, so what you guys think, are we going to get this very cold spell with lots of snow or do you think the atlantic will win the war? the reason i want advice is we want to go away for 5 days on feb 13th and dont want to book and pay money and then find its very bad weather and i cannot go and lose my money,may just sit tight and wait a few days,do you think we will have a more confident answer within say 3 days? thanks all

Hi all had a couple of showers here,started at about 3 ish (hail) and had about 3 small showers of snow but not a lot but cant moan better than rain. but it does look like some of them showers in the north may come down my way.if not maybe tomor. nice to see more of us on here again wonder why lol.
