  1. I have just come back form the sale. When I left the house at about 11.30 it was clear blue skies damp on the ground cold but not bitterly so and I thought the forecast had to be wrong. Having just come back the return journey was with that luminous white/yellow cloud a biting wind and the temperature must have dropped quite a bit. I wasn't confident this morning that the forecast was right but if it continues as it is and there is liquid falling from the sky tonight I now think it might well snow. Just shows how the weather changes suddenly
  2. Wooh! Did anyone just see the Countryfile Weather forcast? Heavy snow right over me for tomorrow night and Tuesday morning! I do know that's at odds with what others are saying TEITS says west of the region is more likely to get it if I understand his posts correctly.
  3. Doesn't look like it will make it this far over either or if it does it will be rain. However Reedham looks to be in the firing line and boyfriend is going to be working eight days on the trot over there from tomorrow night so he is going to be snowed on methinks!
  4. There's already a thick frost on car windscreens outside mentioned it to boyfriend and he says its been like it a couple of hours.
  5. :smiliz19: Good Morning Happy Christmas to all! We have a white Christmas here! I didn't actually see it snowing but I just looked out and the roofs are white so it must have snowed recently! Clouds almost blue now so may not get any more.
  6. I don;t know if it was, what an awful thing to happen on Christmas Eve.Presumably so as the reports say it was a single decker and the only vehicle involved. In the rural lanes near Reedham the ice was still thick on the road in places and the pavements were icy.
  7. went to Yarmouth town centre today still not many people about got some great reduced food bargains in marks and spencers snow and ice still around Reedham area.Came back through a ery short icy rain/hail shower. Now getting cold but not bitterly so and dry here.
  8. Two waves of blizzards and drifting snow especially 25th-27th & 29/30th largely for East/South Britain Just thought you might like to see this prediction if you haven't seen it already you can read more by googling Piers Corbyn, yes I know he is kind of mocked but its intereresting.Doesn't look like anything will happen today still clear hereI'm going out later and I don't know if it is as biting cold as it was yesterday.
  9. Sad news from Reedham tonight boyfriend has found two of the duckies that live at the pub dead, half on the ramps and half in the water not got at by animals he wonders if they succumbed to the cold.Rest of poor duckies seem ok though. I'm sad.
  10. Just been outside its absolutely bitter now with wind gusting strongly and something rainy and icy in the wind although nothing actually falling
  11. Hi its fine now all stopped but the roads are wet. I'm just happy for that little bit because it means temperatures are actually cold enough for snowy stuff if we get any more showers.
  12. There's hope for the coast yet! A minute ago I looked out of the window and nothing was happening so I went into the bathroom to start cleaning it (no windows in there which can be looked out of.Suddenly I heard boyfriend shouting to me came and looked out of bedroom window and saw there is a near blizzard going on outside now with strong gusts of wind and very heavy snowy haily stuff falling.
  13. Still incredibly dark here considering its gone 9.Sky is dark grey.I can hear the wind blowing round the house although not a strong wind.
  14. bbt now showd a lot of snow right over me tomorrow all day and dry on friday.confused.
  15. boyfriend just went outside to put bins out came back in and said it is cold outside but not bitter and wet in the air like drizzle but it isnt snow.
  16. Thats a very interesting analysis and something to keep an eye on for furture years in the pattern
  17. yeah but is it going to snow in Carlisle?
  18. Nearly the end of October and I'm back like a lot of us winter forum folk! Looking forward to sparring with our friend on Gunton Cliff! And just generally looking forward to the winter discussions. Hello again everyone Love Jenny x
  19. we have just broken the world record here for the shortest hail storm in history three hailstones bounced off the car bonnet as we were driving, no more fell, that was it.
  20. I have tended to lurk in the summer mianly because I prefer wintry weather, and to try to guess when its going to happen. I particularly look out for Steve M, Nick Sussex, and Snowmans posts, not forgetting TEITS, and maybe a couple of others whose usernames I forget right away. All are informative and helpful to those of us who are struggling to understand the charts, or if we do understand them, strugglin to understand why the weather may turn out in a certain way.
  21. Countryfile weather forecast confirmed what Snowman said, snow across us on Friday. Currently calm here, I am releived as Southernman is working outside this afternoon and I was worried about him working in a storm.
  22. found online while surfing The Tesco outside Lowestoft had a large gathering of ducks just by the entrance and there used to be food and water bowls for them. The last time I visited there were signs inside the store windows saying "do not feed the ducks". A solitary male waited for a few crumbs by the exit I just wish to make it clear that Southern man and myself did not feed any ducks at Tesco today, in fact, we didn't even see any ducks there. Sincerely JJ
  23. oh, and whoever it was who said something about seagulls and cold weather there were loads of them at tescos as well, fighting with the ducks for the bits of hot cross bun we were feeding them.Southernman was teasing them by throwing bits high into the air to see if they could fly and eat at the same time but one was really skilled at catching it before it hit the ground. It was considerably colder when we came out than when we went in. conditions here now very overcast.
  24. Just went to tescos, all the ducks which live at tescos were sitting at the front door some asleep when we got there about an hour ago, when we came out they demanded cake, which they got. Any rural farmers tales about duck behaviour and cold weather, does anyone know?
