  1. sky here has gone that sort of glowy orangey pinky colour as the sun sets
  2. Congratulations on the 1000 snowman. Here the snow is gradually melting although it has been flattened to sheet ice on the roads. Wonder if there is more to come, as the forecasts appear to say early tomorrow morning again? Otherwise it is quite bright here.
  3. well just looked outside and was not expecting to see so much snow, everywhere is white, and i didn't see it falling! I am very surprised as it had been wet and i did not expect it to settle. Wonder what we will wake up to as the forecast on tv said snow snowers all night for here! Southernman not very happy, as, as per usual, he has to work outside in this tomorrow night!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Just went outside to do some lamppost watching, absolutely bitter raw in the wind, in the lamplight you can see some very fine swirling snow, but not easy to see it other than in the lamplight and there is more covering of white than there was last time i looked outside.
  5. just peeked out of curtains, not snowing at the moment but since i last looked around an hour ago there is now a slight dusting of snow on roofs and cars.
  6. Been out this afternoon in Beccles area, horizontal snow falling heavily at times, verges of roads were becoming white but it had rained a lot beforehand so no settling anywhere else. Also saw heavy hail showers and wind was bitter while walking in it. Now bright but cloudy here.
  7. Hello I've been watching various forecasts on the tv, some say bright, some say rain, some say a lot of snow just over lowestoft/yarmouth, for friday after 3pm. Therefore i'm none the wiser. edit at the end of the bbc news they just showed snow over norwich for saturday and said that viewers should stay tuned to the weather.
  8. weather forecast for 9am tomorrow morning on sky shows snow right on top of me....haha....but nowhere else.
  9. Actually it was me who said it was like a blizzard, i drew Southernman's attention to what was going on outside. I am quite sure that anyone else on seeing those conditions would have said as well "it's like a blizzard" I am going to ignore your sarcasm, it isn't necessary on a weather forum.
  10. I am stunned that you would stake your reputation on such a statement.
  11. Quite interesting piece on sky news just now, didn't catch all of it, but talking about worries councils will run out of grit for roads in next few days.
  12. update on weather conditions here, on going to work this morning the pavements were icy and slippery, during the day nothing new fell from the sky, on leaving work tonight the pavements were still full of black ice puddles but there was no wind and it was warmer than it has been lately.
  13. I am meant to be having surgery on Wednesday, wonder if it will go ahead with the predicted weather?
  14. lol! i spoke too soon, a very fine snow falling now, can only just see it in the lamplight.
  15. SOUTHERNMAN says its snowing and settling out at Reedham, still clear over here.
  16. Hi are you or anyone near Reedham? Southernman is working the 6-10 shift again and we are wondering about conditions for him going and coming back.
  17. ice Cream van outside chiming! lol make mine a haunted house ice lolly, if we're going back to jan '87!
  18. ALL SUNSHINE GONE NOW, SKY CLOUDING OVER A SORT OF ICY GREY COLOUR.
  19. Woke to very light dusting of snow here, some of it has melted in the sun, currently very cold outside out of the sun, but blue skies and no signs of clouds, nothing falling from sky all morning.
  20. clear here but southernman just phoned he is trying to get home from work and is encountering a couple of inches of settled snow on the roads between here and Reedham, enough for him to want to come home a bit slower than usual.
  21. in gorleston earlier we saw a gritter lorry, then Southernman just phoned me to say there are on and off snow flurries at Reedham and he saw another gritter lorry (or maybe the same one) in St Olaves, just down the road. It appears to be dropping in temperature here although no rain/sleet/snow yet.
  22. when i came out of work at 4.45 today, it was cold with a strong breeze and icy rain was falling. still very cold in here, even with the fire on, but it doesnt help that southernman came in from his shift outside and promptly leant against me on the sofa in his soaking wet and freezing cold jeans.!!!!!
