Started the day in Kearney (Neb) with a chase target of North Central Kansas, after initially heading east conditions were showing initiation much further west so we went back west towards Smith Centre. The first cell went up 30 miles to our North West and we got straight onto it, it was quite linear at first but one Supercell became dominant, we followed this east most of the day and were right in position when the first 2 Tornadoes were reported, firstly 3 Miles NW Of Smith Centre and then 3 Miles North East of Smith Centre, we did not see the wedge tornado which was rain wrapped though. A great day with surprisingly good structure.
One quick pic from me of the second cone tornado. Not the best pic. Others have better which I'm sure they'll add tonight or tomorrow if they've already gone to bed. Everyone pretty tired from back to back long days.

Great day, although some challenging driving conditions at times. A few quick snaps of the tornado before I hit the sack. Early start tomorrow morning.

Jimbo, rob and Matt and dan ar on the flight too as far as I am aware. There may be more.
-
Have a blast Bruce and Janet. Looking forward to pics and updates.

Gutted I cant be with you all today. Had boarding passes printed and passport with me ready to go yesterday, but unavoidable work stuff made me miss the flight... which wasnt cheap. My first time to miss a stormchase event in 5 years!
Enjoy guys! Someone have a cold beer or 10 for me.

I'm thirty four now fat boy!If you could bring that Dave, that would be great, will check with tirty tree and a tird what his sleeping arrangements are
Dave / Nick, if you could bring what you've got I would be grateful. Although my tent would fit in my Ryanair hand luggage allowance I'm pretty sure the poles / pegs could be classed as weapons. I have shared tents / rooms with Paul before and based on experience I think its best everyone sleep at least 50 ft from him.

That would be a bonus. Best of luck guys.

See em too mate.

Ian?
Think you need to log out as Arron mate, or don't and have some fun with his account

Well done guys!

Not much time to upload photos and video from yesterday before we hit the road. We got back to hotel at about 1:00 AM and then the internet decided to crash for everyone. Rang reception to try get it sorted but they said it was an issue for maintenance that would have to wait till the morning.
Anyway, 2 quick ones from me of Sean and Brandon with the TIV. We have some excellent Hail video and lightning pics which we will upload at the next Hotel when we have decent internet.

Need sleepies now. What can I say except this is in my top 2 chase days ever. Trying to decide which is number one, Canton OK last year or today. Anyway a little bit of video from Ashley and I.
Warning bad language.
Video of our the second tornado of the day...
Video from Ashley of the sirens and some of the nighttime tornadoes we got near La Crosse, KS.
More photos and vids will follow from the rest of the gang and myself when we have gotten some sleep.
