  1. No probs. Any other questions let me know.
  2. No Probs its easy. If you look at the label on the existing power supply it will have one of the following 2 symbols on it. If its got this one It means that the tip or pin (bit in the middle) is positive + and the barrel is Negative - . This is the most common. If its this one It means that the tip is negative - and the barrel is positive + You attach the right size connector for your laptop to the main unit in one direction for positive tip and the oposite direction for negative tip. Its marked clearly on the unit which is which.
  3. Ross, Your notebook takes a 2.5 x 5.5 mm B type plug so the Maplin option will do the trick and probably the quickest to get since you can pick it up in store. you dont have to worry about the minimum amperage as long as you dont exceed the maximum. You just need to make sure you set the voltage to be exactly the same, in this case 19 V (adjustable) and your not exceeding 6 amps (or 65 Wats approx at that voltage). you'll also need to make sure the polarity is correct. Maplin also do this one which will work fine with your notebook and will also charge USB peripherals and phones / ipods etc at same time. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=223912 It does not have the same wattage as the one you've suggested but has more than enough for your notebook, has right connector and is a newer model. I'm bringing one if these over for Ian's HP Notebook. Up to you which one you choose, just be carefull to set the voltage to 19 V and check the polarity on your existing power supply (normally positive tip, negative barrell) but check anyway to be sure before you plug in. if you have any other questions let me know Agree with dogs though, if in doubt wouldnt be any harm to bring the notebook into the store
  4. LOL. Might not be a bad idea mate. I reckon being a fly on the wall in your gaff at the moment would be interesting.
  5. Fab.  Docu on SKY 3 right on OK city tornado of 1999. Havn't seen this doc before If your not going to sleep pat that will kill an hour Actually think its that ultimate tornado thingi. Was only ok if i remember. Worth a watch though.
  6. Slightly off topic, but I guess I'm probably the only one with absolutely no packing done what so ever. I think Ian might be in the same boat. I'd better go up stairs and pack. Nick, to avoid crying into our beers, we will probably have to drink more than we planned.
  7. No probs Paul. There will be wifi in the hotel. I'll have a vodafone mobile data card aswell of were really stuck. I staying Mr positive. I filmed a bloddy small tornado in east Cork two weeks ago for god sake (your heads up). I have no doubt that you'll get us on the action of the day whatever that may be as usual!
  8. Thanks Paul. No bother. i think after several edits only you and Nick saw my little outburst. hehe. Early days yet.
  9. Quick question for Paul S, Paul, I know this may not happen yet as the models are screwing us around a bit.... but if were driving hard Monday are we going to have time to do a quick wallmart to get cheap tripod and toiletries etc?? If not I might bring a light tripod in my luggage and some basic supplys to keep me going. Quiet here tonight
  10. hehe. I'm a bit of a light weight myself Pat, + I havn'y had a drinkie in about 8 weeks. Sure we'll have one or two anyway.
  11. My flight gets in at 3:55. I will be at the bar!!! :o
  12. It varies by location Pat but generally the internet access is fast enough. Upload speeds were good enough to upload the odd video and use Skype to call the young lady etc. The one problem is, us (as a group) have a disproportionate number of laptops compaired to a normal group of guests, so we do find that we can sometimes be compeeting against ourselves for bandwidth at times. Anyone know the easiest way to get from Terminal 1 in Heathrow to the Sheraton in Heathrow on Saturday. Is there a shuttle bus or is Taxi my best bet?
  13. I remember about 7 or 8 years ago I was over in Arlington Texas (near FW) for some work related training. My boss was stuck in and AA flight for about 2 hours circling DFW waiting for a thunderstorm to deiminish. He wasn't happy. I was delighted. He was a twatt! I think it was Sept / Otc
  14. Yip. They are defo 12V and standard cig lighter connection.
  15. Getting very excited myself now. I've nothing done. Gonna be a busy week with work and trying t get sorted for this. I allways leave everything to the last minute. Kinda off topic but does anyone else have a thing for Karen Kosiba on Josh Wurman's team????? I have the serious hots for her. She could do whatever the hell she wants to my DOW. OK John STOP posting!
  16. Saw it the other night. Pretty good stuff. The bad boys of Storm chasing.. thats how we roll he he Paul, I find it a bit odd that the Vortex 2 project is not going mobile till May 10th this year. maybe its a logistical thing as they are hitting the road on May 1st next year
  17. Thought that was funny too Pat. We hopefully we'll get to see the SRV in the flesh when were out there. Good chance we will.
  18. Its all down to wattage Nathan. Most inverters I've come accross are 300 Watt RMS max. A laptop, mobile phone charger and a few other low amp periphials shoulf be fine.
