  1. The blackcaps and goldfinches are in a frenzy on the feeders. They surely know what is to come! It is a sign!
  2. Some RED STUFF has Bristol's name all over it in the Channel just above Watchet. We could be in SERIOUS trouble. /s
  3. Exactly Jethro, it all looks very nice right now, but it needs to last a few weeks to get a covering.
  4. One would think we're about to get a pasting anywhere East of the Bristol channel looking at the radar, but it's so underwhelming lol
  5. I'm imagining this like the alternate ending of the A.I. Spielberg film.
  6. Although there's next to nothing falling from the skies I have to say the mighty Icon nailed the timing and distribution of the Not-Snow.
  7. I'm intrigued by this comment also, WarminTim! I know Warminster was a 50's UFO hotspot. The Warminster Flap, as they call it
  8. Yep, works both ways. We've been put into a right squeeze (literally, with airmasses) in the UK last couple of days. Shame we couldn't capitalize on it with a battleground scenario. (still holding on to a last gasp dusting for tomorrow), Also, I'd thought that when the easterly set in, we'd be seeing troughs and disturbances flowing across country, but they stayed very minimal (edit: for us). Streamers were decent for some but their westward extension was poor. A lot of sublimation and even places looking good on the radar reported fluff, graupel and pellets blowing in the wind. I wouldn't feed that schnizzel to the birds. The breakdown (touted as good for the West?!) - who knows? Not looking favourable. Thanks to everybody here, including our moderator Mapantz. Thanks big time to AWD for providing really decent followable commentary on the model output. And all the pics. Seen some brilliant sunrises recently and so have a lot of you, by the looks of things.
  9. It's been nice seeing the cold, sunny, fresh air days and ponds frozen over etc. but without any decent snowfall - happy for it to end now.
  10. Arpege 0Z overnight still has a little hope for a dusting Saturday, over frames from 10:00 until 19:00 for the region: Snapshot for 16:00. ICON 0Z showing a similar dusting passing through:
  11. You have to laugh when Western Ireland gets more snow than us in Easterly sourced freezing cold air. County Galway from the Ireland thread:
  12. That's just by Broad Green! Used to live in Elm Street, round the corner. Nice snow. Wish we had some down here!
  13. 12Z GFS Sceuro Block looks 5mb weaker than 6Z at T+96, but the increased heights pushing towards Greenland earlier, so swings and roundabouts.
  14. Yeah no real end of the cold spell in sight on this run Glad to see it looks largely dry, at least.
  15. A few flakes floating around in Winterbourne. Scant but still very nice to see.
