  1. A bright and sunny start is slowly becoming cloudier, there's still plenty of blue sky overhead but the cloud is bobbling up. Currently around 15c which is quite something to recent times, but the breeze seems to be picking up too.

Forecast is for this cloud to continue to build, leaving a mostly cloudy day with a strengthening breeze with the chance of a shower/storm later. Forecasted high is 18c.

  2. Morning all, a bright sunny start here but the cloud is starting to bubble up as expected, the breeze has picked up a little too! The forecast for today is for it to be mostly cloudy but 18c, although the forecast for yesterday was for 17c and we scraped over 15c at 6pm. Seems we might be too far West to catch the storms, but a couple of forecasts suggest there's a chance after 6pm so we shall see.

  3. It's not too bad here today, might be only 10c at present, but the sun is out, but not for too long it seems as the cloud is expected to pile in within the next few hours!

Weekend looks warmer, if less sunny, tomorrow's rain seems to clear these parts by lunchtime and then Sunday looks warmer, if cloudy but seems to be a chance we could catch some late evening storms from France on Sunday evening.

Next week looks better temperature wise, 15c or so daily, but breezy at times and the chance of showers.

  4. I concur with the other posts, it seems there's a lot of 'well it will be warmer this weekend for you in the SE', that might be true but Saturday looks a washout and now Sunday seems to be trending towards it being 18-20c but we've now got a risk for some heavy showers/thunder in the afternoon, which with the current level of restrictions makes planning and doing things difficult as we're not allowed to dash inside to avoid the rain, or if we sit out in it we get absolutely drenched! The trend for next week is seemingly similar with it being warmer, yes, but with some heavy showers appearing from mid-afternoon onwards for most of the week, oh and don't mention the 40mph gusts of wind that are seemingly in the forecast for Monday too!

Seems we get a months worth in a couple of days ,in our case cold rain/sleet ,then nada ,nowt ,Nixie, nothing ,that's what it seems at moment ,maybe a bit like Spain is in the late autumn, loads of rain and have to save it for the long dry hot periods ,maybe that senerio is creeping north overtime ,or is that just south east England for you ,maybe April should of been march and may will give us April showers can't remember a period of convective showers ,odd one or two days  but that's about it

Agreed, I had the same conversation at work the other morning, as someone was saying that they hoped the rain would stay away, I was, well what rain?

The SE cloud shield is in full-affect right now. All the forecasts are suggesting we should be under cloudier skies right now, but apart from a few here and there, it's still pretty much blue sky and sun. Breeze has picked up a little since this morning.

  6. A chilly start this morning, barely 3c right now according to my temperature sensor in the garden. It' a bright and sunny one mind, but various levels of cloud are expected throughout the day. We should get to around 15c in these parts today, guess the lack of the nagging N/NE breeze is playing the main factor in that. Should be dry today, seems the 'threat' of rain right now is mostly tomorrow and even then it looks a bit hit-and-miss.

  7. It's a bright (and breezier) morning here in South London / Surrey / Croydon (whatever area you want to plop us in!), Wind has veered back to ENE/E so it's got a nipper feel to things, it's similar to Thursday which became rather chilly in the late afternoon! Forecasts suggest the breeze and gusts will pick up as the day moves on too! Garden sensor (in the shade, out of the breeze) is showing 10c at present.

  8. Morning all,
Very similar to yesterday (as expected), the morning haze is slowly burning back, currently around 3c outside. Temperatures expected to creep up to around 14/15c today depending on what site you visit but the friendly Easterly breeze is expected to strengthen throughout the morning, could be fairly gusty if the MO is right by early afternoon, leaving us feeling at around 11/12c in the breeze by mid-afternoon!

  9. Wall to wall blue skies here and sun, but it's absolutely freezing indoors at work. I work in education so we have windows/doors etc. all open and when that breeze whips through the building its freezing. Area's of the building are cooler than it would be if we had snow outside! Stood outside for a bit to warm up, it's not bad in the sun then a gust of wind appears! Probably somewhere between 7-8c here at present without the wind-chill factored in!

  10. Cloudy and cool start, around 4c at present. Cloud expected to burn back leaving a sunny and warmer day then yesterday. Highs of around 12-15c depending on the forecast. Using my usual format of 'take a couple of degrees off the London forecast' we will get to around 13c before the breeze picks up early afternoon.

Westerly wind is expected to pick up throughout the day, with more cloud by mid-afternoon before the wind changes to a strong NW/N in the early hours of Monday morning.

  11. The daily 'downgrading' of forecasts continues. It's a cloudy start, with some brief brighter interludes, with a keen NE breeze taking the edge off a chilly start (about 7c at present),

BBC going for cloud all day, MO jumping between cloud, clear and sunny intervals although their text update for today suggests that cloud will build during the day particularly in Kent and London, which seems to go against their actual forecast, the NW forecast seems to sit in the middle.

Temps now 14C and 3C below where we were yesterday, satellite imagery shows the cloud not breaking and the back edge still a good 4-6hrs away from the south coast. So its probably a getting worse day for most in the south east.

MO agrees! They've put more cloud over us now, they've even knocked a couple of degrees off tomorrow's max temp too!

What's with all this thick cloud coming up from the south? Today will be a major let down unless it suddenly fizzles out.

Clouded over down here about 9am, after a bright start, and doesn't look like it's shifting anytime soon. MetOffice are even suggesting it will be thicker for a few hours before maybe burning back at 4/5pm.

  14. Turning out not bad here, unsure what the actual temperature is but I would guess to be about 16c? Not clear blue skies mind, there's a high white haze and some lower clouds to my SW but nothing to stop the sun.

NW suggests we could get some Saharan Dust floating around tomorrow, I guess that's why the forecasts are showing more cloud around despite similar temperatures, then of course we pick up the northerly winds come Thursday, seems to remain sunny, although, I could be reaching for the jacket again.

Wasnt expecting a frost this morning, but the fields were crunching under foot in the shade on the early morning stroll. Still its sunny and blue skies, warming up nicely.

Similar, light frost in the gardens even around here! Currently sitting around 4.5c in the garden. Despite the urban mess that Croydon is, we can usually be 3c or so under whatever the BBC tends to throw over London (I presume they tend to put the highest temperature - so Heathrow!) .. so, I'm expecting 19/20c here today.

  16. Bright, sunny - but chilly - start to the day today. A light frost in the gardens, about 4c at present. Sun all the way today with a lighter breeze so should peak around 20c in these parts. Today seems to be the 'peak' of the weather, although tomorrow could be slightly warmer all forecasts seem to be trending with more cloud to appear in the afternoon.
