  1. Early morning cloud has burnt back, I wouldn't say we got pure blue skies, there's a wisp of white around. Probably around 14/15c in a slight breeze.

I work in education, and schools in London don't close until Weds, some even on Thursday for Easter, so it seems we're potentially missing the 'best' weather for the Easter period as the change seems to start on Thursday. On a plus with schools being open for most of this week, it means we can hopefully take advantage of the next-stage of easing from the 12th!

You look good for 16C tomorrow - half an hour drive down the road in Crawley..maximum of 12/13C! This is solely going with the UKV/Met Office charts though.

Tuesday of course more widespread warmth.

Wednesday still up for grabs! Swinging back and forth every run with regards to warmth further North.

Thanks for that, it was similar yesterday when we went out for our walk. Around here it was mostly sunny spells, but where we had our walk, it was cold, overcast and several degrees lower and it was barely a few miles down the road! Left the house in a light jacket, but really needed the winter coat for the walk!

I always feel that with a S/SW sort of breeze the real warmth hits the usual London hotspots (Heathrow) and places to the NE of here, while it can often be nice in these parts the 'proper' warmth seems to end up elsewhere. I remember last summer when we had that hot spell, the official weather station nearest here didn't get over the 30c mark!

I guess the models here are showing similar, we're only 50miles or so from the South Coast so unless the downs get into the act I wonder if that can influence the weather a tad? Either way this is off-topic (sorry mods!) hopefully the weather in 10 days or so time will get more certain so we can pick a day!

@Alderc get the hat/gloves out tomorrow - chilly on the South Coast - maximum of 11/12C expected for Bournemouth.

Warmest spots in the UK tomorrow...London area, parts of Norfolk and Lincolnshire.
17/18/19C - maybe even the first official 20C of the year.

    Very jealous - enjoy!

Wow, that's puts these parts right on the border between 11/12c or 16c tomorrow!

I'm no expert in these weather charts, but really enjoy the posts by everyone. I'm keeping an eye on the 6/7/8/9th as we're planning to finally meet a friend outside of course, whom we've not seen for months, and right now it could be any sort of weather!

  4. Was a lovely start a few hours ago, blue skies, but chilly. Since then, the breeze might have picked up a little, and the skies are more a white haze now. Cloud is expected to build as the morning goes on leaving a mostly cloudy afternoon. Around 12c today. More cloud around tomorrow, but warmer apparently and windier before a couple of days of warmer weather before (maybe) changing Wednesday but each model/run seems to throw up different combinations.

  5. What are people's thoughts for early next week? Some forecasts seem to suggest we could hit 16-17c around these parts on Tuesday (not necessarily a fully-on sunny day mind) where as others (such as Netweather) have it similar to today, sort of 11-12c with the chance of rain.

There seems to be more certainty about the drop in temperatures from Wednesday and into cooler Easter weekend than what could happen on Mon/Tues?

  6. Back to 'pick n mix' forecasting today.

Cloudy start here, some forecasts suggest this will burn back and give us a high of 14c, others seem to suggest that the cloud will stick around for a few hours, then intermittent sun before clearing mid-afternoon with a high of 11c, feels like 9c. Probably end up with some mixed ground like yesterday.

  7. Bright sunny start as the sun rose, why I was up so early is another debate, but the cloud has already started to roll in on a slightly lesser breeze than yesterday but it's still noticeable. About 7c at present when sheltering from the breeze.
Forecast is for this cloud to continue to build throughout the morning with light rain/showers due to blow down from the NW by mid-afternoon.

  8. After a right old mixture yesterday afternoon, which wasn't in the forecast, anything could happen today!

Although looking at the radar the forecast looks more accurate. It's a bright start, but cloud expected to start building in the next few hours leading to showers/rain by mid-afternoon it seems. I'll have to make sure I get out for my walk just after lunch - just in case! Cool in the breeze, highs of around 9c expected.

  9. All the forecasts this morning are suggesting its sunny outside - it really isn't! Lots of cloud, and chilly start to the day. I get the feeling like yesterday the sun might poke it's head through now and then, but unless it really burns back the cloud by 1-2pm then we generally don't get too much sun.
I'll probably suggest it will be yet another day of cloud, with the odd sunny interval, but a cold day ahead regardless probably not much higher than 6c.

So much for the widespread frost. Not happening if cloud continues to feed off the North Sea. Still cloudy now, with high pressure overhead now the question is how quickly (if at all) can the cloud break up.

We've had some sunnier intervals here now for the past 30mins or so, which has warmed things up a bit, but a bit like yesterday I suspect the cloud will win the battle overall.

  11. Gloriously sunny start, clouded over by about 9am. Cloud has broken (slightly) since then but forecasts suggest the cloud will thicken in the next hour or so, chilly in the breeze for sure.

I agree with the above posts, you'd think the ground is drier than it actually is. Went for a walk (or tried to) at the local common at the start of the week, got onto the common fine but soon found out areas of it are still really muddy, and others are still under pools of water - and that was before the rain we had on Wednesday PM, and looks like before that can dry out we could get more rain during the middle of next week!

  12. Seems the forecasts have changed overnight, more cloud overnight than expected? Same start to the day today as the last few days, almost identical forecast too which suggests the cloud should burn back by 12-1pm leaving us with a few hours of sun before the end of the day. Today's high temperature has also been shifted back a couple of degrees too, now saying 10-11c rather than the 13-14c which was over us yesterday.

  13. Still predominately cloudy here, sun is hazy at best. Around 8c or so with a cool breeze.

MO still insistent that we will get some clear skies but now has pushed it back to 3pm (was initially 11am!) but they have downgraded the max temp from 11c to 9c. BBC have gone for 'sunny intervals' from 3pm, NW still seem to feel there are clear skies around now!

  14. Cloudy start here, around 5c, after that pretty much anything could happen today as all the forecasts suggest everything.

BBC going with the 'sunny intervals', MetO going for the blue skies as per yesterday from around lunchtime. NW siding with the MO and suggesting this will burn back by lunch. The only real consensus is that we're picking up a stronger Easterly breeze and that whatever happens with the cloud it's going to feel a little cooler today.

  15. A cloudy old start here, about 5c, so warmer in the morning than it has been. Every forecast today suggests something different around here, but saying that they got yesterday a bit wrong too as cloud tended to bobble up during the afternoon, so who knows if this will burn back or not. Regardless a cooler day expected, highs of around 9-10c as there seems to be more of an easterly breeze developing?
