So much for the clear sky; minutes after posting it clouded over and now no sign of the sun. Very little cloud being reported around here. I suspect with where the surface high is predicted to be for a few days this area will have lovely N Sea low cloud-yuk.

We've just had a 20min period of hazy cloud cover here in South London. It's burnt back again now, be interesting to see if this continues throughout the day or not. No cloud is forecast on any weather site for around here all day (at present!), the temperature difference for that 20mins was noticeable even indoors! The skies are presently a more white colour than clear blue too.

  2. Bright, sunny and (slightly) colder start to yesterday. Seems a similar sort of day to yesterday, highs slightly down on yesterday of around 10c.

I notice the forecasts are showing us picking up a slightly stronger NE/E wind has the day goes on which seems to strengthen into tomorrow which I presume is why there's more cloud in the forecast from tomorrow.

Next week seems a bit topsy-turvy right now, yesterday Wednesday looked mild (if cloudy) but noticed the overnight change in forecast is now showing rain!

  3. Bright and sunny start to the day after a far cooler night, currently 0.5c which is down 1.5c on this time yesterday.

Seems to be a mixture of forecasts for around here today, some going for similar to yesterday - sunny all day, cold start, decent mid-afternoon, temps dropping off into the evening - and a couple of others suggesting there might be some more cloud floating around by lunchtime. With the cooler start to the day I would expect it might be slightly cooler max today too.

We seem to be picking up a strengthening NE/E breeze by mid-afternoon too? MO suggesting 10mph or so 'gusts' just after lunch.

  4. The 'rain that will get lighter as it moves SE' is currently pouring, there goes my afternoon walk!

As posted above, seems to be a couple of 'warmer' days ahead, although Wednesday seems to show the 'warmer' weather further north now and we're sitting on 13c here, then sunnier days but cooler nights, NW's forecast has it near to or below 0c toward the weekend overnight / early morning.

I don't know which way clouds are going, but the sun's out here., Although it is hazy sun.

The cloud radar seems to its moving NW, (blowing up from the South) there seems to be a bit of a break on the radar showing so we might get an hour or so of sunnier skies soon, which is good as I'm about to go out on my walk, it's brighter now for sure. Does seem to be more cloud crossing the channel heading this way tho! Maybe the MetOffice got it right after all!

We where a bit on the edge of it yesterday too, we had sunnier periods, the odd light shower too, seems similar today that a few more miles east and it would be clearer!

It’s not looking that mild, pleasant days and frosty nights. Notable how dry it’s looking for most of England and Wales this winter we haven’t really had a break.

Would fog/mist start becoming a player under these cooler nights?

I mean it was pleasant yesterday in these parts, but I didn't remove my jacket during my walk yesterday afternoon. Seems we're in for some typical late-Feb / Early March weather, cold mornings/evenings with decent afternoons - where the fog/mist stays away.

  7. After a warm night for February, it's a hazy start to the day, sun breaking (slowly) through the predominantly cloudy skies. The radar seems to show more cloud around today, lighter winds too so might not blow around as much(?). Most forecasts seem to show more cloud around today, apart from the MO which show it to be clear around here for a few hours in the early afternoon, but I guess that could change.

Edit: Saying that the MO has now reduced the 'clear skies' from 12-4 to now 1-3, so seems to be falling into line with NW and the BBC.
