  1. Help! Anyone give me some advice here, I was supposed to be travelling up to the North West this weekend, yesterday I decided it was too risky to travel based on discussions here and the forecast but today it seems to have flipped and pushed the snow further west, but obviously there is a chance this could be slightly wrong too and snow could still affect travel - on the train this is on the West Coast Mainline - is the trip still a tad risky. Obviously there now seemingly seems to be a snow risk for the South East for Sunday now, so I need to take that into account for getting back home. But what would people suggest?

  2. Well if she is your girlfriend I would say you have every chance rofl.gif

    Hahaha, thanks!

Seems others agree with me, I think it will need to be rearranged, I'm hopeful of a major snow event down here in London but it seems she will deffo have a major snow event up in the North East, I'll give the weather models another 24hours or so to try and work out what is likely top happen but looking at it, getting from Croydon to Euston might be a mission let alone hoping Virgin are running trains via what seems to be the majority of the snow through the midlands towards Manchester.

  3. Anyone here can help. I'm supposed to be travelling Friday evening (after 7pm) up to my girlfriend in Manchester on Friday night. What - honestly - chances do you think I have? Even if we don't get too much snow down here, the metoffice amber warnings for North East England could play havoc with rail. I've not booked a ticket (yet) but I'm 50/50 that even making the trip will be impossible.

Plus I have to return on Sunday and looking at the model thread it seems that we might be in for a second dose of snow then and I could end up stranded!

Anyone willing to have a stab in the dark to what could happen?!

  4. Cloudy and cool start, currently 8c, low of 6.7c.

BBC still saying 18-19c again today where as realistically I've not recorded much more than 16c the last couple of days and even that was late afternoon 4-5pm time, I expect another coolish day (in comparison to the last week or so) today.
