  1. Might get 5-10cm but id expect it to turn to rain earlier down there so might melt away after.
  2. If you look on the brighter side if it falls as rain tonight we are all going to get best night sleep in quite a while!
  3. I still think west country has a damn good shot at this i mean if you look at met office west forecast it shows snow nearly all way through until mid day tomoro, turning to rain and then heavy snow showers by 6pm again and that was the update around the same time as the revised warnings.
  4. How can it not settle the roads are still white here.
  5. Even my temperature has gone through the roof! its now 3.2c I just left for work 4 hours late because we were waiting for snow plugh to sort our road out and then i got stuck leaving the village on a37 because of a lorry which has jack knifed! no work today at least haha
  6. I just don't know what to expect now being on the edge of north somerset. its so marginal i just hope my fairly high altitude saves me.
  7. not convinced i think high ground is in with a shout tonight and tomoro nite
  8. doesnt look like they finished that warning update on met but map has been changed to orange for a larger area with westcountry still in the orange zone.
  9. Everytime i refresh that met office warning it briefly goes green and send a panic through me lol.
  10. The warning have not changed yet. that was a ice risk warning which they have removed for today.
  11. Yes i think maybe less snow than expected but it would be better than having rain all together. It may barely turn to rain and then clear before its return trip as snow in which case the thaw wouldnt be horrific and we would keep most of what fell. I am exausted from the last couple of days of weather watching lol.
  12. Yes that would be a complete disaster. I cant wait to see met office warning update at 11am i'll be scared to look at it. just have a bad feeling we will be in for a downgrade. although its only 12 hours away what could go wrong....
  13. hmm, doesnt look like reaching us til early evening id say. I am positive though because traditionaly high ground like the mendips, cotswolds, exmoor and quantocks do very well out of this sort of setup. I'll be surprised is places like wells and glastonbury, somerset will see much. Although id prefer they did because it makes it far less marginal for me.
  14. Still looks good for bristol area in the early hours. id say it could be very wet to begin but its a good chance it will be snow and im possitive that the mendips shall get a pasting as long as it doesnt mover further north again. We had a fresh inch of snow about 1.30 am so as long as we dont get silly temps today it should stick around for the big event later i hope.
  15. Just had a very light flurry go over head which was why i never replied lol hardly worth watching but hey. The next batch of interest does seem to be tring to veer away from out direction :o the other concern is i have a thaw setting in as well with temps now up to 0.7c now and thats at 290m so it must be getting marginal lower down. If its not going to snow i hope it clears and gets frosty.
  16. I think it is heading for me but it would be a first and it has a long way to go yet. If you want a laugh just enter ba34te and look at 24hour acumulation totals.
  17. Yes have you seen the red echo's developing in the next larger one to the south!!
  18. I know it doesnt look good i wanted them to merge but that is wishful thinking however there is one even bigger behind it in the middle so at current course would be a hit but im sure that will change. Also isnt the shower activity meant to fizzle out soon?
  19. If they maintained that intensity even bristol would get snow. however lets wait see if they make it to mendips first Even better still those two huge showers look like merging?
  20. latest met office update still has sleet/snow for west country on wed/thur/fri
  21. there seems to be a couple of beefy green echo's on south coast that have intensified over last 4/5 timeframes and they look like going through more of central somerset bristol direction. Well sods law says il go through the gap between them.
  22. About 5 years ago i watched flakes that were the size of a hand id say but the thing that amazed me was they were like an inch thick individualy
  23. Haha, I do sometimes find his forecasting bit strange but on the other hand i have met the bloke and he was a nice chap and chatted to me for quite a while at bath and west show although i must of bored him with all the questions i had lol.
