    Just had a heavy 5 mins of snow which left a dusting, strange thing is there is nothing on rader to show a shower

    Back to thursday and my fears that i voiced earlier have been revealed on the 18z it's all going to fall as rain in west country!

    Back to the present, how does that area of ppn 20 miles to east of me just keeps massing with green echo's and just to the west any showers fade into nothing before getting into mid somerset? I have watched it for hours and it is frustrating. :o

    So would height make a massive difference in west country in this coming event? would it be far more likely to snow at altitude of say 300m?

    I have this terrible feeling that it will turn into a west washout and snow for midlands, south wales and south east like usual in these events. Anyone think it may be a case of met office just covering their ass? Then if it rained it would wash my gorgeous 5 inches away.

    Just had another heavy fall of snow here from what looks like the edge of that stream of showers.

    Just had a monster of a shower pass through somerset heading towards bristol! doesnt look much on radar but it dumped around 1cm in 10 min See there is a new met office warning out for west country thur and friday

    Just started to snow again here in somerset, i had a walk down the local pub which was closed until i banged on door and they let me have one pint. Looks like we may get another cm at least over next hour or so looking at radar but then i wait for morning and hope those showers make it over here from brizzle channel. How does it look for tue through to friday is there a chance we could get fresh snow before a thaw sets in? looks too marginal for west country but who knows.

    heavier ppn seems to be starting to make a little progress north now. its slow but snow is getting heavier here now. bout 5 inches outside now

    What are current temperatures like in the region now? I have noticed a gradual rise over last 2 hours albeit small. temp at 5-6pm was -2c Now it has made it to the dizzy heights of -0.9c

    I don't think it is going to thaw fast, i think on high ground where temperatures will be 2/3c colder it will barely thaw and then there is potential for more snow out of marginal events.

    Yes i think bristol should get it all as long as it passes me to get there

    If that is correct then surely the mendips would be in the fireing line for another 5/10 cm? maybe
