Will any settle though so quickly into cold spell. Ground still wet and no time to cool yet. -
Well the 12z has arrived and i'm still hesitant but looks like the cold is at least nailed on for us now we just need to find the snow.

I would rather take some dry powder snow from the east than risk seeing some wet transient snow from west that could easily lead to disapointment. Lets hope these warnings dont stay to our north and east all next week. Not ready tyo change my avatar and jump aboard polar express just yet but im getting close

I am struggling to get excited by this beast from the east I just feel like vomiting while they all talk of 50cm+ for their regions. Then when you hear the phrase "the whole country gets a pasting" you know that doesnt ever include west country

Moderate snow here in bradford on avon for about half an hour now but not settling. My weather station temperature is 3.4c which is somewhat suspect given snow steadily falling it surely cant be that high.

Not holding out much hope in bradford on avon. temperature is 3.1c and it will lose intensity.

Well west country is not doing well this year. Models showing some love for eastern half into feb.

Yes looks patchy but I'm sure im not the only one to remember these fronts suddenly pepping up out of no where last min. No fat lady singing just yet and at least it is now cold enough.

I am back from my afternoon walk at around 290 ish metres just when those showers happened to come in and it left another inch on the ground by time I left really came down. Back in the avon now and its a slush fest.

I expect -7 or lower over snow cover so I expect its based on expectation of snowcover?

National forecast did say 5/6 around some coasts.

Sleeting/wet snow now at 20m asl in wiltshire.

Some of theose showers may pack a punch over 100m later this afternoon? I expect wintry mix lower down though.

Well I don't think so jeth but ive noticed met office app has light snow almost all day forecast for mendip so maybe shower activity will pep up soon? Im keeping eye out as thaw will start lower down soon and I might need to take my daily excercise up on mendip
