Looks like end is in sight for me I give it 15 mins or so before lighter edge moves in. Lovely to see though I expect shower after main event will turn sleety with the thaw in place soon. Temperature creeping up 0.2c -

Yes we got to remember the front will slow down as it heads in to uk shores. I'm so nervous... its just been so long!

I realise that and we would all love a 2 day blizzard that leaves us 6 feet under but after several starved years enough for a snowball fight would satisfy most currently.. I can't even go abroad skiing this year to find it!

It may not be nescicarily transient if its all snow event though mapNtz. Some in region may get lucky.

Surely alll weather is transient.. Weather changes from one type to the next. Might not be snow to rain but it will end which ever weather type occurs on sunday.

Looks like another damp squib coming for most low lying areas myself but hope I'm wrong. 1 - 3cm low ground.. Hmm.

Also very surprised if it did. Seen several reports on TV this morning about all snow in UK and just makes me rather sick.

God if only that could happen. this winter has been terrible so far. Too much hope and no reward. 5 mins of light snow is all ive managed so far.

Light snow falling here in shepton mallet at 130m quite pretty.

Well this cold spell doesn't feel very cold currently. Maybe this SSW even can give us a change of fortunes later into January.. Not seen a flake personally yet this winter.
