Having grown up in Cookridge it's quite normal to see limited snow at the bottom of the hill.
-
We are just starting to see the flakes last a little longer on the paths instead of instant melting which should bode well later on.
I'm really not sure how much low lying areas will end up with. If it hangs around till 7/8am then 10-20cm in low lying areas is possible but equally could be a few cm.
-
Its about 40-50 miles further north but when it starts to pivot I would imagine more areas of the NW will start to see falling snow.

It has gone a bit left as the front is further north than we expected. It's between 40-50 miles further north which has brought the milder air a touch too far north for a time. It should have reached southern parts of Sheffield instead it's coming right over Leeds.
It would also put the pivot further north, originally over South Yorkshire to West/North Yorkshire.
Still all to play for and nothing to suggest it's gone bad, the warning was always for 3pm onwards.

Few drifts now.
You've done well nothing to complain about where you are.

The radar is in line with the UKV nothing to suggest things have gone tits up. What has surprised me is the lack of cover on paths and roads even at this elevation.
A full band to a patchy band in the afternoon.
Should pep up later on

Manchester is officially in the game!
200m on a hill in north Leeds vs 0m in Deansgate.

Decided to go visit the parent's up in Leeds at 200m as Manchester city center is looking like a flop.

I was surprised to see a covering on the grass/roofs in Leeds center. But like everyone else is reporting nothing on the roads/paths.

Luckily I'll be back in Leeds tonight at 200m so I'm expecting some significant accumulations tomorrow.

Updated Meto warning, high ground Yorkshire inland the place to be.
"At low levels including major cities such as Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle accumulations are expected to be limited with a small chance of 2-5 cm falling. However, significant snow accumulations are possible over hills of northern England (including populated areas of South and West Yorkshire), Northern Ireland and southern Scotland. Here, 10-15 cm is expected quite widely above 100 metres, with a chance that 25-40 cm could fall in some places . Additionally, there is potential for strong winds, which may lead to blizzard conditions and drifting of lying snow. Ice is likely to develop widely on Friday night as this system clears away."

Atleast if it does go a bit firther south we miss out on that slushfest should it go further north which looked a big probability last night. I think were in for a direct hit mate and LBA prime location!
I'm in Manchester atm don't think I'll be able to get to LBA this time.

Very hard to call, local Met Office forecast is showing 2/3.c and snow, which isn't great at 200m.
Low lying areas in Leeds is forecast for snow, sleet, and rain.

The GFS/Icon represent a significant southward shift which puts all of Yorkshire in line for heavy disruptive snow.

Looking at all the charts it's going to be quite marginal especially for low lying areas.
Even up at LBA at 200m it's going to be 1.c for most of the event.
I don't think anyone should get too optimistic just in case it goes left.

I don't know why I have a bad feeling about this winter. I would have expected to at least seen a flake by now.

Local Meto forecast showing 6 hours of snow Monday morning.

No snow between now and Christmas which is a shame.
Local Meto forecast shows a max of 4.c on the 26th. Indicative of cold air setting in which should put us in good position for either frontal snow or something more significant.

Hmmmmm since 3pm we've probably had about 3cm.
I'm feeling a touch less optimistic than I was earlier.
