I'm in town but it's still -1.c up at the airport, expected it to be a bit warmer.
-
Black ice here on the side roads, I think it's raining as well.
A simple yellow warning for high ground would have been sufficient.

There's definitely chance coming up to Christmas for somewhere in the North of England northwards to see a significant spell of snow. So while Sunday is looking like a dud there's more chances.
-
Tbh it's probably gonna be what is showing for Sheffield but nice to live in hope (delusion).

I'm with a friend down on the outskirts of Leeds center (Burley park) and we have heavy lying snow.
Cars have 2-3cm, ground around 1cm of snow.

Sorry mate, London or LBA? I live near LBA and it's a pretty standard Westerly gale right now - yellow warning is about bob on.
LBA, that's still a strong wind even for this area.

Strong winds will develop through the morning across parts of Northern Ireland and southwest Scotland, transferring across parts of northern England during the day Gusts of 50 to 60 mph are likely, possibly 70-75 mph in a few exposed sites.
Perhaps a bit stronger than expected.
-
70mph gust just recorded at LBA.
Probably could have done with an amber warning.
-
Just had a gust of 70mph.

Gusting 60mph in Leeds, only a yellow warning for these parts, shows how common it is.

Snow line around 160m. Below that a sprinkling in places.

A covering of snow here pretty much what I would expect under -7 uppers.

Heavy settling snow!!!
Anyways I'm off to bed.
-
Interestingly it was trying to settle, the ground must be quite cold still which bodes well for any accumulations.
-
Yup snowing here as well started as heavy rain but quickly turned to snow, not even sleety which bodes well.
-
I'm expecting temporary accumulations at this elevation, I've been through many a Nwl'y and the air is never really that cold for anything too significant unless we end up under a longer spell of snow, those setups usually clip Sheffield South.

7mm here, 4mm was snow 3mm ice pellets.
Tbh I haven't followed Buxton area on the charts so not sure what was forecast, for all of S/W Yorkshire it was pretty much dry with a rain shadow.
-
It went pretty much as the models planned so can't get annoyed, there was hardly any precipitation here.

Whole street is covered in black ice very hard to walk down. The grass is rock solid. So yeah in the end the warning was right.
