  13. Morning all, Am liking the met office update this morning.. Outlook for Friday to Sunday: Mainly dry in the northeast Friday, but rain, sleet and snow spreading from the southwest. This pushing northeast through Saturday. Further rain and snow spreading northeast on Sunday. Windy throughout. Issued at: 0400 on Wed 16 Jan 2013 UK Outlook for Sunday 20 Jan 2013 to Tuesday 29 Jan 2013: Turning more unsettled than of late, with spells of rain, which will be heavy at times in the west and southwest, and some hill snow, which could fall to lower levels at times in the north and east. The best of any drier weather will tend to be towards eastern areas. Windy at first, with the risk of gales in exposed coastal areas, and remaining windy at times throughout the rest of the period, especially in the south and west. There will continue to be fairly widespread frost overnight, as well as the risk of icy stretches, with most areas staying cold or rather cold, although perhaps occasionally near normal in the west and southwest. UK Outlook for Wednesday 30 Jan 2013 to Wednesday 13 Feb 2013: Colder than average conditions are favoured across many parts of the UK, especially in the north and east. Whilst there is no strong signal for rainfall patterns through this period, drier than average conditions are more likely in the north, whereas the south may have near or even slightly above average rainfall. The frequency of snow events through this period may be more than experienced so far this winter. Issued at: 0400 on Wed 16 Jan 2013
