    Big flakes in the shower that past about 20 mins ago in Leigh on sea, quite relieved at that! Another blob incoming and intensifying, now it’s starting to look interesting in the North Sea

    The Eastwood shield has now let the snow showers through ? More of the graupel type at the moment.

    Great to see some powder snow, will be great when the intensity picks up and settles during this spell, keep thinking we’re getting thunder snow, but it’s the early easy jet flights out of Southend ?

    Hope it’s not the flu mate, seems to be a lot of that Aussie flu still going around. Atleast it’s a good day to be home with the potential of a streamer forming! Must of just missed that..although I think we should start seeing some more showers within the next couple of hours

    It’s my shift off today and tomorrow, so looking forward to a couple of days of radar watching, already looks good out in the North Sea with heavy bursts building, nothing here yet in Leigh on sea

    Yeah I’m in Eastwood, just off of Rayleigh road so not far at all! Be great to watch the showers incoming from the estuary from tomorrow ??

    Fingers crossed Paul! Just moved to Leigh on sea a few months ago from Basildon, made sure we was still in the firing line from a Thames streamer, surely that has to add to the house value ?

    As Kold as mentioned, most of the region now under -5c uppers, not expecting -10c to -15c until past midnight, this should then start the convection showers off from the North Sea with the instability, I’m going for 3am ish, hopefully we all wake up to the showers kicking off ?

    -10 to -15c uppers look to cross our region between 9pm- midnight tonight, I’d expect to see some showers forming in the North Sea with the instability leading upto then. Radar watch at the ready ?

    The lamp post outside my house conveniently decided to pack up the weekend, but after an email to the council concerning ‘safety’ oppose to saying I need it to work to see snow falling tonight, has just been fixed ?

    Those showers seem to be heading towards us and not losing intensity, if anything they look to be building and slow moving.

    A good moderate/heavy snow shower here in Leigh on sea, all surfaces covered, looks like like the wind is turning more ENE, just need more showers to appear in the North Sea ??

    I remember one instance we done very well, must of been feb 09 & dec 2010, there was loads of entries! Im sorry to hear that Tom, I’m glad your feeling better

    These situations always seem to be underplayed & a nightmare to forecast, more of a nowcast from this afternoon, and we always seem to do very well from it good luck guys, here’s to an afternoon & evening of radar watching and not forgetting tomorrow of course

    Heavy snow here now, settling on cars and grass, heavy band of ppn on its way too before the temp rise
