  1. Well that was good while it lasted, absolutely hammering it down again now
  2. It may be very windy but for only the second time in over a week, the rain and drizzle has stopped and the sun is out. I appreciate that others have had better conditions than me but I cannot remember a summer period with as much continuous filth as the last seven days. the long dry spring seems a lifetime ago now and conditions under foot are back to being as bad as they were at the end of winter so hopefully a period of dry will follow although I’m not expecting it.
  3. After a dry start it’s back to drizzle crap and low cloud again here.
  4. Yeah it’s not looking that good at the moment and certainly not what you’d want in mid summer although around here it’s not surprising.
  5. I think the weather over the next few days can be summed up in one word.......crap
  6. After what seems like days of gloomy skies and rain, finally a bit of sunshine.
  7. Absolutely vile over here in East Lancashire. the rain isn’t that heavy at the moment but it’s been constant since yesterday afternoon with torrential showers before that and looking at the forecast we’ve got several more hours before it finally sods off to annoy another part of the country. these conditions certainly aren’t unknown, especially up here in the hills but are awful all the same and just another segment of what has certainly been a strange years weather. as for changes to lockdown and the pubs opening again; I think next weekend and the following days will be like New Years Eve so will leave it to settle down again before I venture into my local.
  8. Same here although no thunder Not complaining though if it means we don’t have to put up with a repeat of last nights 6 hour long local outdoor rave.
  9. Another torrential downpour followed by bright sunshine. More like April than the end of June and given tomorrow’s forecast and weather warning, parts of the region could be facing more flood misery in the next couple of days. There are some serious amounts of rain being talked about, certainly for Cumbria and parts of Lancashire.
  10. After a reasonable start it’s turned into a vile day now with shower after shower. nice way to ruin a mid summer weekend
  11. I’d be surprised if our lot isn’t heading your way shortly
  12. Heavy rain and thunder/lightening here at the moment.
  13. Peeing down here at the moment but no thunder or lightening. as others have said, hopefully a clearance to some sunshine will up the storm potential for later in the day.
  14. Just reached 28c here. I’m not expecting 30c to be reached IMBY but it’s easily my warmest day of the summer so far and every chance that tomorrow could be even hotter.
  15. A cloudy morning with mist shrouding the tops but it’s starting to clear a bit now with more and more sunshine breaking through. just a shame about the breeze as it’s taking the edge of the temperature and giving a coolish feel to the day but after a couple of wet miserable days, it’s nice to get a bit of usable weather.
  16. After a dry start the forecast showers have reached here, absolutely hammering it down at the moment.
  17. My Billy No Mates shower has passed through, the most threatening of the clouds have gone and the sun is out again. From an IMBY perspective, let’s see what this evening brings but for those currently getting the action.....enjoy.
  18. Just started raining here but looking at the radar it’s a rogue shower with most of the activity still about 10 miles to my south and west. TBH after yesterday’s mopping out I’m happy with missing the heaviest of the rain but I would like to see a decent thunderstorm to add to yesterday’s funnel cloud.
  19. Dry and sunny here but some amazing cloud formations and very dark down towards Manchester way.
  20. Agreed while we were clearing water out of the conservatory, my daughter was sat in her garden only 10 miles away in West Yorkshire. they haven’t had a drop of rain all day.
  21. After a two hour deluge it’s stopped raining here. what the final rainfall figure was, I don’t know but we’ve emptied a large mop bucket six times with water that flooded into the conservatory so if someone needs a bit of water, it’s free to anyone who wants to collect it from the Irwell. should be well on it’s way towards Bury by now.
  22. Well that should save me watering the plants tonight
  23. Temperature briefly reached 26c before dropping back slightly which according to my unofficial sensor makes it the warmest day of the year so far here.
