When should we expect to see the snow showers developing over the North Sea? The radar looks pretty dry out at sea at the minute.

Sheffield and Chesterfield favoured for it
How much shower activity should areas in northern Lincolnshire area see mate? Thanks

Could someone please explain what is the difference between the GFS run and the GFS parallel run. Thanks in advance.

Which GFS model is the better model? Is is the GFS or parallel GFS? By better I mean more likely to be accurate. Thanks

From 1987?
Haha, if only. They mentioned other other factors such as La Nina counteracting the SSW. Basically they don't know what the impact will be yet.

has anyone noticed that the wind seems to be decreasing the snow cover. i dont mean by blowing it around. i mean in general a little un-noticed thaw. whats this to do with?
temps currently nowhere near as low as last night! only -2. it was -5.6 last night n heavy snow!
I've noticed that too. We have lost over half of our snow cover eve though it has remained close to freezing

Yes you did well on the south bank today... I heard it was horrendous this morning during the rush hour
It was mate, it took me over 2 hours to do a quarter mile! Ended up coming home and played in the snow with my daughter instead.

What's the shower activity looking like out in the North Sea? My radar app is not working!

A fabulous day here in Grimsby. Lots of heavy blowing snow showers with a max temperature of -1. Not bad for the 28th of February. We have a good 8-10cm covering in most places now!

It's very annoying to see areas to the west of us do better then us when it's coming from the east! My fear is we get a cm or 2 from this and that will be it. Been like 8 years since had any proper snow!
I will happily take the cm or two you mention. I will be amazed if we get that going by what's happened so far for us.

Yeah we will see what happens hopefully will get lots from the showers!
I share your frustrations mate, all we've had today is really light stuff that left barely a dusting. Not sure what later tonight and tomorrow will bring. Those bbc new graphics are awful for seeing snow showers. Time will tell I guess.

The cold air is really starting to come in now. Even here close to the coast with a keen easterly wind its already down to -0.1C and dewpoint of -5.4C.
Liking the models tonight too, there's pretty much a polar low especially for East Yorkshire on Tuesday morning. From Russia with love.
Does that 'polar low' influence northern Lincolnshire too Reef?

Really heavy snow here, massive flakes with a good covering everywhere!

Am I the only one on the Lincolnshire Wolds, (It is sparsely populated) ? Am I indeed on the right forum?
You are indeed mate, let's hope for a covering before it lol gets washed away tonight.

Not quite sure what to expect here later on, but we have already had two heavy sleety showers this afternoon. Hoping to wake up to at least a dusting in the morning.
