  1. Looks like you are going to have a lonely watch in here for the foreseeable Lorenzo.
  2. Read the Amazon reviews for the 2010 updated version as they say there is no real difference between the two except for the 26 page Winter 2010 update Bullseye.
  3. Bullseye check out: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Frozen-Time-Worst-Winters-History/dp/1905080093/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1386440253&sr=1-3&keywords=frozen+britain (original version) and http://www.amazon.co.uk/Frozen-Britain-Ian-McCaskill/dp/1905080980/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1386440253&sr=1-1&keywords=frozen+britain (updated version for 2010 cold spell - 26 additional pages)
  4. Literally a few flakes here only OTR so we were missing the showers here. Minimum and currently -1.1C so the frigid uppers are not propagating down to the 2m level.
  5. Go and look Southwest to see the brilliant apparition of the planet Venus "the evening star" and the new crescent Moon - exquisite!
  6. Here is one for you all to ponder - Why aren’t the earliest sunsets on the shortest day? http://earthsky.org/earth/winter-solstice-and-late-sunrise?utm_source=EarthSky+News&utm_campaign=4c7956187c-EarthSky_News&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_c643945d79-4c7956187c-393594697
  7. Barometric pressure 1011 hPa and rising (+1.8 hPa/hr) from a minimum of 992 hPA. Yes OTR a few proper snowflakes out here too now and the next shower incoming from the North and yes it is of snow. +3.7C/-1.1C in bright sunshine before shower.
  8. Another heavy hail shower just passed through. Now +2.5C/-0.4C (-1.4C/hr).
  9. Well that very heavy hail shower temporarily turned everything white. Temperature fell from +5.3C to +3.4C (-1.3C/hr) and there was the strongest gust of the day here of 26 mph (height 2 metres in a built up area).
  10. Hah! Internet must have died briefly just after 06.00 when the worst gusts began (through until 07.30). When I got downstairs I discovered the problem of no data transmission to my laptop Weather Program although data was reaching the Control Panel just no onward wireless or internet transmission. Hard restart of Control Panel fixed that but data was lost sadly. Went fairly calm here at 09.30 so I guess the worst is over. Two trees down beside us with many more branches down also. Both the Friarton and Tay Bridges were closed so Perth centre is bottle-necked as it is the only way to and from Dundee just now. Glad I am off today. Strongest gust closest to here was 106mph at Glen Ogle in Stirlingshire. Currently 4.8C/+1.4C so no snow prospects yet. 16.2mm of rain last night.
  11. At least when it reads LL.L you will know the DP is sub-zero Ravelin.
  12. That's very disappointing EDO and quite unbelievable for a German engineered product to boot! My first proper Weather Station was by Ambient Weather and failed to work out of the box which made me determined to buy a state of the art wireless Davis system.
  13. Minimum last night -0.4C with 7.1mm of rain from the cold front. Beautiful day with cloudless sky.
  14. That's an excellent screensaver Andrew. How do I display my weather data from Weather Display?
  15. Any more like that Lorenzo and we will need a "NOT Like This" button!
  16. That must be the cold front passing southwards from those measurements.
  17. Started raining here and heavily at 18.00 and currently have 4.0mm (23.45mm/hr at 18.33). the temperature has fallen from 9.7C to 7.9C in that period also (-1.8C/hr). I think a change is happening!
  18. Just left the bin out and the car is frozen with thick ice (must have been a passing shower earlier). Currently 0.8C (-0.6C/hr). Amazingly quiet in here all day given the Mother of all Northerlies is incoming at T+96 and possible Polar Lows (bows in obeisance) to boot!
  19. I find this Site useful. Look at the temperature - 0C at sea level Thursday night and doesn't go positive on Friday: http://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/Cairngorm/6day/bot
  20. Poor Comet ISON reduced from a snowball to a piece of graupel: http://www.isoncampaign.org/karl/a-trail-of-questions
