Grim out there now.
13c, moderate to heavy rain; the dark and gloom have descended on us.

Been raining here since just before 3 oclock; moderate to heavy now.

Decent start to the day, with temps up to 15c.
Rain has arrived now, though, temp down to 13c.

Mainly sunny, 13c. Not a bad start to the day here.
October's been mixed weather wise, but overall it feels it hasnt been that bad. Well, that's my perception for this vicinity. The heating's only come on the odd occasion during 2nd half of month, just for an hour here and there.

10c, grey, gloomy, damp. Probably worst time of year, for me, here - both late Oct and November i cant stand, as it's either wet and windy or gloomy grey nothingness days, just like today.
Hence, why we depart these shores in 9 days time, for 2 weeks in Fuerteventura.

Rain easing off now, it's been torrential; sun trying to break through.

Easing off already, sun trying to break through.

13c and absolutely tanking it down.
Radar looks like we're on the Southern edge of the main band across the Midlands and Wales. Hopefully will clear by 11ish.

Heavy rain now, but not very windy here at the mo.
-
Yeah, it went on for an hour yday eve, and it came on this morning from 06.30 til 9.

Lashing it down.

17c raining.
It was quite pleasant earlier today, with a top temp of 19c and a warm breeze.

10c, cloudy, been raining thru the night.
Felt colder last night when i went to bed, as wind was hitting back of the house, indicating a northerly direction.

Well that would mean self-igniting EVs have already sunk a cargo ferry and destroyed a car park in the space of four months. One more such disaster would have to be enough for a public enquiry into the long term safety of these vehicles if we are all expected to switch to them over the next 20 years. My decision has already been made - I’ll never buy one and I will just have to make my ICE stay alive as long as I do!
If it's an EV another massive issue is car insurance. Prices will soar for owners of an EV. Actually they are already rising and likely to continue rising, because of EV repair costs.
Already reports suggest there are not enough car technicans/car mechanics in the UK, with new required skills to service and repair EVs, esp when things go wrong.
Edit: Diesel vehicle, early reports suggest.

Grey, cloudy, 17c.
Popped down shop for the paper in shorts and t-shirt. Did chuckle at the rents dropping their kids off at school, all layered up. Wonder what they'll be wearing when it's 0c

Who's shouting?!
You are. Using 3 exclamation marks in a short post is akin to shouting.

Just commenting on the seasonal models and no one has said a cold winter 'is on'! The JMA and GLOSEA updates are no doubt positive and I felt they would probably be similar to the ECM, but thankfully, that's not the case! However, that's not to say they have the pattern correct and the ECM remains a concern!
No need to shout.

You couldnt make it up - this forum, and some of you never cease to make me chuckle, at times

It's four degrees warmer in my neck of the woods mate, hope you are having a nice week so far.
Yep. Popped to Weston-S-M yday with my wife and our 3 year old grandson (well he's only 2 months off 4).
Great to be able to get out in the sun and warmth, so he could let off steam. On the pier for an hour, a spot of lunch followed by a mint choc chip ice cream and then an hour in the park on the front, which is great for the kids.
Easy to do when the weather's so good; not possible when it's wet, windy and cool.
Cheers

Meanwhile, a foggyish start that has lifted into low cloud, but is stubborn to clear. Yesterday cleared into a beautiful afternoon… hopefully the same today.
The grey gloom is actually v damp; feels like the finest of drizzle falling.

15c, grey, dull, misty. There's been a very heavy dew this morning.
Clearance not expected 'til after midday.

Yep.
That's why past threads along the lines of "It's Worringly dry" look so damn stupid.
