  1. Lots of convection firing up just to the North of the front, a good signal for the region later.
  2. Amazing how cold it is there, been out in tee shirt here in Cambs with a warm sun shining.
  3. It’s great for keeping in touch with relatives overseas etc but I agree it has plenty of attention seekers.
  4. Been snowing for 9 hours looks amazing outside with the wind blowing and still coming down!
  5. The fine snow sounds like sand when falling on the bushes in the garden. Frozen dust storm?
  6. That’s one of the downsides of the UK always too much moisture around. I would love to experience a continental climate for for a few years.
  7. There’s nothing worse that a boring dry breakdown of a cold spell, still snowing here?
  8. It may be where the pipe drains outside has frozen. Pour some hot water over it from the kettle.
  9. Well a nice surprise to come out of work to see fine powder snow blowing in the wind and settling too.
  10. I share your feelings mate, I grew up in Essex and lived through some humdingers in the 1980s! Now in Cambs and it doesn’t quite cut it here in winter time for snow. It’s pretty good for storms during summer though and I’m thankful for that. Crowded house is my all time favourite band, so many weather related lyrics in the songs written by Neil Finn! Hoping that maybe the fronts from the South can deliver a bit here Thursday and Friday fingers crossed.
  11. Hmm zilch here just South of Peterborough hoping when the isobar kink arrives it will swing em round more South!
  12. This always happens during an Easterly here mate, the snow showers are weak around Cambs too.
  13. I’m quietly optimistic seeing the big rash of showers over the country today, they will only get heavier tomorrow with the deeper cold and a strong sun, a very unusual set up for the Uk.
  14. The day has a true polar continental feel about it with the blue sky and dry cold air, yet the sun feels warm. The last time I can remember this was Feb 2012 when the Easterly only just made it across our region and then a front stalled over us from the West. This was the next day and boy it was cold! I am hoping some showers make it this far west and we all see some snow!
