  1. All things balance out in the end with the nice warm summers we get.
  2. It was over here before it started, too far West here but nice to see some people had fun further East, enjoy!
  3. Nice one! For a minute there I was looking at the scale on the right and thought blimey that’s 5 inches.
  4. Yes I was a bit shocked just how quick it turned to icy rain here as location wise we’re pretty good.
  5. Leaving somewhere with so much attachment is hard but a new place in beautiful Scotland certainly would help ease that feeling.
  6. I’ve fancied moving North for years but also would miss the warmer drier summers down South. Need a winning lottery ticket then can have a house up North for winter and down South for summer.
  7. Welcome to the SE thread, we have the East Anglian mountain rescue team on standby in case of upgrades.
  8. Agree the internet although wonderful in many ways, also has a way of turning some conversations quite ugly. Meanwhile in the dark I can see a lovely white frost on the grass outside hopefully a nice base for a bit of snow.
  9. Temp -1 Dewpoint -1 Be nice to see some white landscape for a short time hopefully.
  10. Ahh yes the good old 1991 classic tune. Let’s hope we get a Feb 1991 as well.
  11. I agree. Where I work is virtually sea level in Huntingdon area but I live near South Cambs at 70M ASL and the amount of times during marginal events I have left home with settling snow only to get to work and have sleet. Just shows even say 50 Metres can make all the difference.
  12. Nice light snow falling now in Cambourne. But as usual the front is running out of steam just as the cold air is here.
  13. I’m in Cambourne too mate and I can see sleet now. I think we’ll be in luck soon.
  14. I can vaguely remember winter 78/79 being aged 5 but picking an all time cold spell then I’d be inclined to agree with Feb 91. 13 Inches of level snow and daytime maxes of -5. Amazing to think that after 30 years we’d still not see anything as severe since.
  15. Jan 2013 one of my favourite cold spells as most of the snow happened over the weekend.
  16. Getting desperate now staring at the rain trying to make out any sleet mixed in.
  17. As always with higher temperatures comes more moisture, had rain showers here in Cambridge all morning. Been dry all week when it was cold enough for snow.
  18. Feb 91 was sweet as just two months before (Dec 1990) we had to watch the midlands get trounced by a blizzard.
  19. It’s something I’ve noticed over the years Huntingdon and St Ives area is an absolute no snow zone during marginal set ups.
