Boring as it sounds get the cold in first and the rest will take care of itself. My mind wants to know when it’s going to snow but after many past let downs living in the driest part of England it’s time to let go a little and just let what will be happen. Remember historically the models underestimate blocking and like to show operational runs with our biggest fear of low pressure ploughing through with mild air. This has a Dec 81 feel about despite the chopping and changing between runs the background seems to be dictating the bigger picture. I can’t wait to see the exited posts on here from all you guys who are lucky enough to get some snow. Winter is here let’s enjoy the fun and games!

Not taking any chances being on the edge of the red warning. Cambourne is notable for being windy. Just sacrificed a garden bench to support the wobbly fence. -

It was very bad, the sound of the wind was like standing next to a motorway. I was just a kid living in Braintree and school was closed. Some of the trees were sheared off halfway up the trunks like something had just twisted them in half. Unbelievable weather event that always stands out in my memory. -
Flooding of 8th - 9th April 1998

I was 23 at the time working in St Ives Cambs on late shift I remember it rained all day and night then on my journey home to Godmanchester there was rivers of water running down the A14 slip road. Next day Huntingdon was virtually cut off from all sides as the river great Ouse seemed to rise from everywhere. Never seen flooding like that before. -
