Perhaps we need to wait and see what happens with the others side of the pond That is what is killing our model watching but I tell you it’s coming this isn’t our normal winter in the uk be it new year or early jan and the background signals are handling this just as bad as the models you can’t just have everything wrong without the other this is different this will either be epic or a bad miss for our little island but I still think that globally will be a winter that gets updated to the data just my opinion

Just one thing regarding the models and the posters today seriosly some posters are as fickle as my 5 year old one minute rubish one minute hold on its changing dont get me wrong I’m the same lol but relax and enjoy this exiting time god knows we are never normally in such a good position this time of year with the way models have handled this situation and it’s changing every run its normally sweasterlys all day long till march this is why we’re here day in day out

Everyone getting hung up over white Xmas don’t get me wrong it would be nice forget the timings I still think that a lot of flip flopping is gonna take place with the models I don’t think it will be resolved by Xmas but I a lot can and I believe will change for the run up to new year all the major models are gonna pick up and drop back to usual Atlantic dross due to what’s happening in the states i believe this is no way over yet but timing wise yeah

Probably a stupid question but if the p.v is that far away ie over Russia surely eventually that has to work it’s way back this way and hopefully develop a stinking easterly for the U.K. or am I miles off

No same but I do remember this same situation not as complicated just more a garden path sort of thing this year way more going on in terms of model confusion

If I remember correctly. and I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong, wasn’t this the other way round last year ecm was modelled to give us some cold for after Xmas and gfs was having none of it. I seem to remember as I had my mum last year for Xmas and was worried about getting her to my sisters on 27th maybe I’ve jumbled a year or two But I’m sure this was the case if I am corect ecm failed big time just saying could be failing now to

That’s a brave call with the way the models are behaving could go anyway at the minute not a done deal yet

I do believe gfs has sniffed out a pattern now but I don’t believe it will be for Xmas I think it’s jumped the gun somewhat and will keep showing a day late then a day late and so on. ecm and ukmo are I believe correct but will soon show cold around boxing day onwards.

I think maybe the ecm could tell us more depending if it follows Ukmo or gfs Or knowing the ecm will just do it’s own thing

Agree and don’t for one second think that my criticism is aimed at you personally. if it were that simple even from experts every month would be forecast at long range. just saying a lot can scupper long range forecasts instantly in a very short time.

Disagree with those long term forecasts immensely we can’t even get an agreement for 72 hours its all about butterfly wings in my opinion. everything is flipping every 12 hrs and January is nailed nah
