  1. Amazing visible Sat pic for today - absolutely no cloud across the UK. A very rare feat. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/satpics/latest_uk_vis.html
  2. Clear & sunny. A lovely start to the week. 3.9c the low now 8.7c. Seems to rising faster compared to yesterday.
  3. A lovely day here too with a max of 15.1c. Really wish I'd booked this week off work instead of next now!
  4. Despite clear skies all day we're only at 14.3c still. Why is this area cooler than others? Can't blame the low cloud as we didn't have any today. Edit: Actually looking at it more closely can see areas further east are cooler still. That North Sea is still cold!
  5. Not to forget solar noon is now 1pm so its all heating up later than before. It's 13.4c here so far under sunny skies. Perhaps 16c today but doubt we'll get 20c just yet...
  6. 5.1c the low under clear skies. Now stunning and sunny and 11.2c so far - took till 1pm GMT yesterday to reach this so def a much warmer day ahead.
  7. Lovely day here right from sunrise - no low cloud! Agree it's shame that Easter isn't this or next weekend. I'm going walking/camping the week leading up to Easter - be shame to have to be at work in this weather only for it to turn cold & wet on my week off! But such is always the risk in the UK. Right time to enjoy ample sunshine flooding my house and garden this morning for first time in several weeks!
  8. Far too cool to be summerlike in this neck of the woods at only 14.4c max. We'll see how tomorrow performs. Here's hoping I wake up to sunshine which will automatically mean decent temps here. If not we play the low cloud lottery.. the later is breaks up the lower the maximum we'll get. I would assume the low cloud lottery is just that- a random game of chance as to who gets the best and worst end of the deal. Place your bets now...
  9. Made it to 14.3c which looks like it'll be our max today. Not as warm as most days this week with only Wednesday being cooler than today. Perhaps we won't be cursed with low cloud for as long tomorrow. We live in hope!
  10. They look realistic here. I'd expect no more than 15c as it is still 11.5c at 1pm.
  11. Fog finally broke up around noon now clear & sunny. Still only 11.5c however so nothing very warm here just yet. Loosing 50% of the days warming time will never give very high maxima!
  12. Right off to Sainsburys - hoping to come out to glorious sunshine instead of this ruddy low cloud! Not mad it to 10c here yet so def not getting near to 20c here.
  13. I wouldn't be happy in June/July with all this damn fog around! Just want a sunny morning whilst I'm at home. We had a few sunny mornings this week with our house flooded with sunlight and our budgies going mad wanting to fly about. But since it was the working week I go bed to shower to work and the poor birds stay locked in the cage. By the time I come home this place is completely in shadow - even in high summer. Now today its foggy and no doubt won't clear till lunchtime by which time the sun no longer falls in the house much. Really really thinking of moving house just to get evening sun again.
  14. Foggy again - no sign of the sun yet. 8.3c after 6.7c min. Just want a sunny morning at home!
  15. 14.9c max here after low cloud finally cleared around 12:30pm. Crossing fingers & toes for a sunny mornings over the weekend as my house only gets the sun on it until lunchtime and I want to enjoy it. This is especially so after several sunny mornings this week flooding the house in sunlight when I go from bed to shower to work!
  16. Well it's now almost noon and no sign of this low cloud breaking up and temp is 11c. Certainly no 20c going to happen here!
  17. Yes be nice to see a proper northerly with spring showers mixed inbetween sunshine. Some forecasts seem to point towards a colder April with high pressure in the Atlantic. That would indicate we may see some of that sort of weather but we shall see. Certainly nature will balance out and it will chuck it down again at some point. I'm sure many people would prefer it to hang off till the end of summer although that will make for some difficult drought conditions in EA and the SE. Here we'll probably be ok so I'm one of those hoping the monsoon waits to September!
  18. Lovely day here. 4.5c min now 13.2c under clear but a little hazy sunny skies. I do hope the weekend is at least as nice as this! Very wary of those easterly flows...
  19. Yes lets please stick to the models and leave the drought specific talk out of this thread. No problem with some personal opinion dropping in here but we can't spend the next 6 months comparing each chart to its affect upon the drought going on in the south east. No doubt we'll see some rain eventually but I'm on of those definitely hoping that 'eventually' is not late May to August!
  20. Clear, chilly start down to 1.8c. Cloud has built up as day has gone on now mostly cloudy 7/8ths cover. Max 12.4c.
  21. At first glance perhaps but all that chart is saying is : "There is between 40 and 60% chance of rainfall being above average between Jun & Aug". That to me says there is no strong signal either way and could indicate anything from drought to average to wet weather. The temperature chart does however give a clue that there's a reasonable possibility (60-80% chance) of above average temperatures.
  22. Can't deny a high like this would be much better in June with the solar power available to clear the murk and short nights preventing it reforming as much. Be so so much better to get that rain now and get our highs in summer but it doesn't look that it'll happen. The charts posted above point to more dry and warm weather right through spring and into early summer. They do both please and worry me. Saying that it won't be here that runs out of water with our big Peak District storage still plenty stocked.
  23. It's just cleared here to hazy sunny skies rapidly turning blue. A nice afternoon ahead, now 10c.
  24. Foggy and feeling cold with min of 2.7c now 3.9c. Going to take some solar power to lift this lot!
  25. It cleared here at similar time to yesterday - around lunchtime. But its stayed hazy but sunny rather than clear and sunny like Monday. Definitely in the favoured spot here as it seems to be breaking up centrally first. Does feel cooler this afternoon than of late. Once again in the midst of a drought what little rain we are getting is going to roll in at the weekend - just when its least wanted as I have outdoor stuff to get on with! Still, we need it so no matter.
