  1. Interesting. It's just I intercepted this earlier: Also, was walking the dog near the border this afternoon and came across this being put up in a hurry: Something's up...
  2. Is this the mild period? I've got an air temperature of 2.5 C and falling, with a slight ground frost re-developing. We are in something of a frost hollow and I guess the ground is still frozen. Was below -5 last night. Certainly, frozen puddles struggled to melt today, even though the air temp was up to around 5 C in the middle of the day.
  3. Another ice day at fort SS. Haven't used the car for a couple of days and when I went out earlier to go to the shops... Sheesh. Bloody layer of concrete on it. Talk about ostwald ripening; my various layers of frost with a bit of snaw thrown in had finely matured into boilerplate. Almost become one with the windsreen. Took me ages to get the stuff off, even with some help from Mrs SS's anti-freeze spray. -2.3 C and gairden a delight of white sparkles.
  4. Merry Christmas all. Hope everyone's having a nice one and Santa was good to you. Just had a nice walk with the dugs. 2.6 C, clear and still. I see the southerners are going to get all the snaw - pants. Still looks chilly and frosty at least. Have a wee couple of snaw symbols for Saturday from the met, so might get lucky yet. Now, back to good food and beer...
  5. ECM ensemble mean = ECM and GFS ops =
  6. ECM surface T ensembles for London showing the potential cool down. Synoptics mean the further north the colder...
  7. Some potential aye candy into FI this morning. Developing theme of HP to our NW by 144. by 240 GFS Ensembles. Would be nice to get a wee cauld and snawy spell between Christmas and Hogmanay.
  8. Lovely cold, crisp and clear morning here. Fair bit of lying snow still hanging around. -2.0 °C.
  9. Quality photo from Cairngorm. https://www.facebook.com/CairnGormMtn/photos/pb.138991532861040.-2207520000.1418426067./748000175293503/?type=1&theater
  10. Just cold pish in the end here. Also, the farm doing Christmas trees near us was closed today for family reasons. Bah humbug.
  11. Probably one of those shields that push the t950's up. When I was growing up in North Berwick they had one of them. One of the earliest models I believe. ---- Anyway, we're off to get a Christmas tree before it gets dark.
  12. 1.9 °C here, but no melting of lying snaw of any significance.
  13. Seems to be producing snow on the TS cams at the moment, at least inland and with some elevation. Was -1 C when I woke up. 2 cm of crisp snaw. Gairden all white. Now -0.3 C. Road outside would appeal to Torvill and Dean.
  14. Ah, the curse of snizzle. Can have you lining up the animals two by two from a look at the radar, but it's just nothing more than overblown scotch mist.
  15. Maybe that front will hit south of Scotland? When you look at wider radar... http://www.sat24.com/?ir=true&ra=true&region=gb Looks further north than the Euro4 predicted.
  16. Couple of cm's of new snaw lying here. Came home in a blizzard and intentionally took the back road - 3 miles of white. Excellent. 1 C.
  17. Cool huh. I'm just down the road from you now I'm at work.
  18. Great commute to work. Snaw off and on the whole journey. Embra bypass whiteout from Lothianburn around to Calder with thick snaw building up on the road at the highest point at Dreghorn. Currently snawing heavily and lying here at Riccarton, W. Embra.
  19. Blizzard conditions at Fort SS. Big fat flakes and chucking it down. 1.3 C.
  20. Thin covering of wet slushy snaw here. 1.5 C. Soutra looks pretty snawey - should be fun on the drive over to work.
  21. 2.3 C here and another wintry shower rattling in. Mainly snaw, but still not really lying.
  22. Cheeky wee wet snaw shower here in Riccarton, W Embra.
  23. Pretty heavy snaw at Soutra on my way to work. Wild. Looked like this. Was wet sleety snaw all the way to Pathhead, but only sticking from Fala upwards.
  24. Sky looking pretty red to the west here this morning. What was that old shepherd's saying?
