  1. Wee dusting of snaw here. Well, more if you take a dusting and blow it into wee mini drifts against the house and stuff.
  2. Ok, down a degree in 20 mins, that's more like it. Couple of showers battered through and dropped 0.5 C after each.
  3. Och don't be shy man. Ramp away. Hey, here we go. ---- Showers fair crashing across with the high wind speeds. Still hanging around 4 C here with rain, but sounding wild. Which is fun.
  4. Cooling down at a modest rate here, about 1 °C/hr. Now 5.3 °C. Some showers rattling through but remain cold rain.
  5. 06 Euro 4 seems to have snaw arriving earlier. Higher areas getting some by midnight. Would be nice if that was the case.
  6. Euro 4 has some nice charts - liking potential for the borders here. Wed 12:00 18:00 21:00
  7. The National does some really nice pics for its centre spread. Today's is fitting for this thread - some folk wishing they had winter tyres on the A93 Braemar to Glenshee. Still chilly here at 1.7 C, but warming up.
  8. Aye, great wasn't it. Council don't seem to be gritting my wee back road and I couldn't be happier. Lovely frozen slush to tear through the morn.
  9. Left Falkirk ~7.00 pm and just heavy, sleety rain and 4 °C. Edinburgh bypass 2.5 °C with sleet at Dreghorn. Tops of the Pentlands looked white but hard to see in the dark. Soutra (360 m) had a good few cms of snow; lying on the road, covering the overtaking lanes etc. 1 °C. Lauder has a wet dusting, as does fort SS at 1.6 °C. So, official first snaw here of 14/15.
  10. Snaw lying nicely at the ski resorts.
  11. Nice. That's where I'm headed this afternoon to visit some friends.
  12. My home town. I can recommend Sluggan Bridge for a nice stroll or Dalnahatnich. The Cairn hotel does a nice pub lunch. -- 2.4 °C here. Some clouds around, but no prep for now. DP = -0.6 °C
  13. Welcome aboard grifter. You should stick your location into your profile so when you are jumping up and down posting 'It's snowing here - woohoo!' people ken where 'here' is. You joined at a good time anyway - some snaw action coming it seems. Enjoy. --- Meantime, mild sector looks to be peaking here. 6.5 °C and dreich with a fair breeze.
  14. Hey hey - I'm now just about under the yellow warning. Possibly ends at the other side of the field to the west of me, but an improvement still. Got a puncture in one of my new winter tyres last night on the way home. Limped back after re-inflating 5 miles from home. Planning a drive tomorrow to a mates house in Falkirik and was hoping for some snaw action, at least up Soutra. Couldn't believe it when I got a flat - ruddy great nail hissing away like mad. Anyway, much kudos to ATS Euromaster in Gala who fitted me in this morning after I called early doors. Plugged and back on the road for just £15 too.
  15. Mild sector has pushed the temperature up to a scorching 3.0 °C here.
  16. Nae ice, nae frost, nae prep of any form. 3.7 °C. Och pants. Still, other than that, nice enough morn with blue skies and calm.
  17. As an aperitif, I'll take this. EDIT, hold on, MetO have wee snaw symbols for me the nicht.
  18. Aye, another winter tyre morn the morn. Currently -0.6 °C up from -1.2 °C when I got up. Gairden white and crisp. Looking possible for a wee taste of some snaw for me on the horizon. Even if nothing particularly special at Fort SS, Soutra could be interesting in the weeks ahead.
  19. Likely a bit of an inversion. Was -1.5 C and frosty the morn in the leader valley. In contrast, at ~360 m asl up Soutra, was a couple of degrees above and any frost gone. Winter tyre morning anyway <nods to HC>, lovely frost covered back roads with a few decent wee sheet ice patches.
  20. Aye, couple of potential charts for the ski resorts and hills there.

  23. Quite a contrast between the ECM and GFS. 00Z London surface T ensembles:
  24. <Clutches at straw.> ECM 12Z T240. Wee northern block running from the pole to beyond iceland.
