  1. Intense squall line to the east of me; can hear it, but remains bright and sunny at fort SS.
  2. Just had my first rumble of not too distant thunder. Overcast the morn, then brightened up, now some evil looking clouds passing over at times.
  3. Easing off now. That was some rain at points. Good news is that the gairden got a decent water. Noticed when doing some planting yesterday that the ground was getting a bit dry. Bad news is a few plants flattened with the intensity of the rain. It was end of days biblical monsoon grade at times. EDIT. From my planting bucket, looks like 2.5" of rain since yesterday evening.
  4. No urging required here. Wee thunder and lightning show + rain absolutely hammering down. Flash flood type stuff.
  5. I've got full on summer asymmetrics from vredestein (ultrac sessanta). They're actually really good on both dry and wet roads - they pick up water and chuck it out to the sides so even quite deep surface water is no problem - but I might as well be on skis when it comes to ice and snaw. My snaw lasted through to this morning; think there was a bit of a frost. Much nicer this evening but still chilly. Bring back summer!
  6. Madness here. Was cutting the grass earlier in a t-shirt. Now coming on 1/2 a cm of snaw with almost palm sized flakes. It's all Sturgeon's fault. You've been warned. --- EDIT And guess who had his full on summer tyres fitted last week. Aye.
  7. Moderate snaw here as a shower passes over. Nice.
  8. 1-2 cm in Lauderdale / the Leader valley. Rather unexpected. Was leaving work (W Embra) and noticed it chillier with a dusting on the Pentlands. Thought 'Oh, might see a touch at Soutra'. Then, as I drove through Pathhead there were cars coming the other way..... with snow on number plates and windscreens.. Ever more eager with anticipation with each further snaw splattered car that passed, I got to Fala and saw just a very light dusting ahead. Up soutra only a wee touch. But then.... Lauderdale spread out before me in a beautiful coat of white. Took the back road home for some decent winter tyre action. 1.1 C with it starting to frost up.
  9. We have nothing but a little dusting, although cam suggests Soutra got a cover overnight.
  10. Occasional moderate snaw here with some big flakes at times. Not sticking though. T = 2.0 C DP = 0.7 C Think it might be sticking up Soutra, but cam is on Scotch mist mode. EDIT Settling M74 Beattock so likely at Soutra too.
  11. Light sleet here. T = 2.2 °C, DP = 0.9 °C.
  12. 2cm now. Topping up a remaining gairden coverage.
  13. Snawin away here too! Wee new covering. -0.3 C.
  14. Flying to Stavanger for work this afternoon, back to tomorrow. Even it is apparently snowless. Looks like my best hope is to see a few flakes on the drive back from Aberdeen Airport later tomorrow. EDIT Maybe just maybe a few flakes for lunchtime once I've done my presentation.
  15. Moderate snaw here now - blawin aroond a fair bit. Getting a wee covering on top of what's left from before. T peaked at 2.2 earlier, now dropping it seems.
  16. Starting tae snaw here. Just on the edge of that band running down the east coast. T = 2.2 °C / DP -1.4 °C
  17. Well, the bands off the E coast just made landfall (for my area anyway) south of Dunbar. If they keep the same track, I might find out what they are producing. T = 1.7 °C / DP = -2.1 °C
  18. T = 1.5 °C, DP = -2.3 °C. Fair blawin a hoolie now. Some of those showers off the coast of Angus have a tantalising NE-SW edge to them. Enough to keep me radar checking every so often.
  19. I assume everyone else is seeing the traffic Scotland cams stuck on pics from just after midnight last night?
  20. That's the silliest one I've seen yet. So, snaw Dalkeith tae Pathhead but eases off by Fala. Nothing at near 400 m asl Soutra summit, but back on again following descent to Lauder. It's a snaw inversion.
  21. Aye. This was Soutra at 00:38. For some reason the camera hasn't updated since. Didn't really see anything of note in the end here. Currently 2.5 C. EDIT. Seems all of the TS cams have gone offline in the wee small hours.
  22. Quite a big stained glass windower of a blob aff o Dundee... Heading for the eastern borders? T holding here at 1.4 C., DP -0.7 C.
  23. Not getting much oot this wee SE self generating blob, but a new dusting present in the gairden. Adds to the decent bulk of my previous inch that has largely stayed in place.
  24. Snowing here. Mini Miss SS told me. Something of a surprise - I haven't been radar watching the day. T = 1.5 °C / DP = -0.6 °C. EDIT. Oh, the met have me for snaw from now until early doors...
