  1. Indeed - with spot totals 40mm based on latest UKV. Certainly 10-20mm widely. Further bother looms for some through the weekend with potential shower alignment over localised areas, more widely on late Tues-early Weds and again later next week. Not good.

Meanwhile, MOGREPS retains a strong cyclonically-centred signal (much akin to EC) right through to the Christmas period, so we're working now on some strong continuity for this broad synoptic pattern to show no sign of relaxing for some time, albeit some brief, transient NE'rly episodes are likely for northern UK at times. So, it's the potential for more flooding bother that really grabs the eye now into tail end of this year - worrying.

Any signs of cold fronts bumping into the rain, or is that the NE'rlys you refer to?

  2. They have been forecast on today's hi-res runs to develop this evening, running NWwards at the moment, and then to become slightly more organized and pushed more North & NE through the early hours leaving a few lucky places (more likely the Mendips/Blackdown Hills and parts of Wilts) with a dusting by breakfast time.....not much, but I'll take anything right now!

OK, so just gonna see it on the hills in the morning... Shame

  3. In some ways tho, it's better to have the disappointment now, rather than be forecast the snow and it be rain. That would be horrific.

AGREE, a nite of lamp post watching only to see rain in the reflection is a horrible thought.. been there done that! but hey life goes on and as said before spring is round the corner, fluffy lambs, daffodils and green shoots every where..awe I love the spring time (actually sick in side and sad to the core) ;):sorry:;):sorry:;)
