Just seen the 10 day forecast ... 80% chance of snow, need the low down guys, what's on the cards!
Edit: and -9 feels like temp!
-
"Snizzle" has to be the word of the week...
-
Indeed - with spot totals 40mm based on latest UKV. Certainly 10-20mm widely. Further bother looms for some through the weekend with potential shower alignment over localised areas, more widely on late Tues-early Weds and again later next week. Not good.
Meanwhile, MOGREPS retains a strong cyclonically-centred signal (much akin to EC) right through to the Christmas period, so we're working now on some strong continuity for this broad synoptic pattern to show no sign of relaxing for some time, albeit some brief, transient NE'rly episodes are likely for northern UK at times. So, it's the potential for more flooding bother that really grabs the eye now into tail end of this year - worrying.
Any signs of cold fronts bumping into the rain, or is that the NE'rlys you refer to?
-
maybe a bit more widespread Nick.....See Ian F's recent post
Yes, just read that... Could be interesting, won't get the sledge out quite yet
-
They have been forecast on today's hi-res runs to develop this evening, running NWwards at the moment, and then to become slightly more organized and pushed more North & NE through the early hours leaving a few lucky places (more likely the Mendips/Blackdown Hills and parts of Wilts) with a dusting by breakfast time.....not much, but I'll take anything right now!
OK, so just gonna see it on the hills in the morning... Shame

What's all that setting up in the channel .... Looking like showers????
-
A great explanation of wh it snow for some and not for others: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/20199175
-
Amazed at all the snow reports from the southwest ..... Did anyone predict this?
-
were not going to get anything...
IMO if its not snowing by midnight then thats our chance gone.
-
Still steady light rain here.... wind has picked up a bit though. Temperature..... well not bloody cold enough!
-
Take a look at BBC Weather radar animation and hold it at 12 midnight tonite.... that should give us all some encouragement!!!!
-
We got some nice old RAIN... mmmmm... will it get cold enough?
-
So...... is it on or off for the Somerset region? Anyone putting money on it yet?
-
Our snow is proper snow, the powdery type and is settling. Our Monday snow was wet, nasty lumps of horribleness. So it may change for you soon,
Apparently the fact it is snowing here at 60asl is a VERY good thing for the region.
Where in Somerset are you?
-
lets hope it doesnt produce rain!
Still praying for the cold front to hold on here till we got a few inches... abandoned the charts and turned to the higher entity to make it snow.
-
is it setttiling..
Yes, eased off now as quick as it came..bring on the main event
-
Gonna be so sad to see it turn to rain... so so so sad, getting even heavier

AT 0.4c DP -5c
Many thanks.. think the snow is from those few small blue echos seen on the met office radar, bit heavier now.
-
Nothing Happening here :L
All calm and quite here too.... not sure on temperatures though?
EDIT: Actually snowing here, few flakes
-
Just watched BBC weather on line... all over.. rain rain rain.. sorry guys but I have thrown in the towel on this one..
-
In some ways tho, it's better to have the disappointment now, rather than be forecast the snow and it be rain. That would be horrific.
AGREE, a nite of lamp post watching only to see rain in the reflection is a horrible thought.. been there done that! but hey life goes on and as said before spring is round the corner, fluffy lambs, daffodils and green shoots every where..awe I love the spring time (actually sick in side and sad to the core)
-
Seems like its all over bar the shouting.... another event breaks down before our eyes... still there's always the next global ice age, then we might have a change or a huge fresh water ice melt that halts the gulf stream...mmmmmm saw some pigs flying by... feeling glum, does it show...

**********Snow is like to turn to sleet then rain in Wales and more western parts of England later on Saturday.******
Spotted a typo' in the Met Office warning.. ('Like' - should be Likely ) ..... think they might have been a bit excited whilst writing it?
-
Wish the meto's website would work again
Cant read any warnings.. Is it because they are about to launch the warning of a lifetime?
......... but will it include Somerset and the South West!!!! thats the big question..
