  1. I went to bed feeling a bit meh last night at our snow prospects and woke up to SNOW!! Love it!!!
  2. Even Brighton is forecast light snow next week - we live in hope!
  3. It's really picked up here in brighton too. Its constant but every now and then there is the mother of all gusts. I'm relatively sheltered here too
  4. Heyyyy Don't say that! Brighton and Hove are in the warning zone It doesn't feel like it's going to snow though, normally you can kind of tell if that makes sense. Anyway... Fingers crossed with a bonus snow dance needed
  5. I'm in a shepherds hut in a field near Rye next weekend- I can't decide whether it's going to be boggy or frosty. I pray for the latter!
  6. Good work! Thoroughly enjoyed these. GFS-P especially. Here's hoping for a great storm - the usual be safe caveats apply
  7. I'm really disappointed that we are not bearing the brunt of this storm. I do love a good storm! All the usual caveats apply- of course people must stay safe
  8. Is this the peak of the storm on the south coast? It's quite feisty out there!
  9. Nothing unusual here in brighyon yet. Just very wet! I am in quite a sheltered spot though
  10. It was raining in Brighton when I woke early this morning and has been relentless and heavy ever since.
  11. Things are pepping up a bit here on the south coast. The rain has arrived and we are getting some good gusts!
  12. Hi all. I have been lingering and reading all day - it's the best entertainment and that's meant in the best way As far as I can see, yes it's shifted north and those further north of the M4 as someone said earlier need to batten down the hatches! But.. The South do too. There is no escaping the fact that the majority of England are going to see some pretty fierce wind speeds tomorrow. We're all in for a rough ride
  13. Things are starting to pep up outside in brighton. The rain comes and goes in about 30 second heavy bursts. The wind comes and goes with it. I haven't been able to keep up too much with this. Are we due a rough afternoon/night here? Met office has Brighton down for yellow warnings.
  14. There was a sting jet in 1987 http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/media/pdf/2/p/Sting_Jet_Flyer.PDFEdit: storm is now recorded as 945mb for Saturday. Isobars looks so tight. Currently it's blowing a hoolie outside in brighton. I'm sad for the west pier, yet more has succumbed to the elements
  15. Amber warnings now for wind in southern areas between 8am and 3pm. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/se/se_forecast_warnings.html
  16. I've been living in the model thread and thought the bad weather was tomorrow. What's just happened and is still happening?!! It literally went pitch black all of a sudden like the lights went out and now all I can hear is wind, rain and a constant roar! The roar is unlike any other storm we,ve had lately even though the wind doesnt seem so bad. It's the pitch black and roar all of a sudden that's made it so eerie. Really eerie out there right now
  17. Having just driven from tunbridge wells to Brighton, the road was being gritted, Crowborough, Uckfield & Lewes
  18. I stopped mentioning the weather to my friends, family & colleagues after I impressed them with my newly found knowledge on the polar vortex... & then there was THAT ECM..
  19. It's gone incredibly dark again and I'd say the gust I've just experienced is the longest gust of 2013/2014. Relentless and still going but not so strong. At is strongest point I was hoping it'd ease! Unbelievable weather!
  20. Oh my word!!! Whooooa! That was exciting, extreme and terrifying all at once Flash, whoooooosh, howlllll, BANG
