  1. Oh happy days. Thanks for the post. Now I am getting rather excited in Ealing, London W5.
  2. Great post. The truth is Manchester has had barely any snow for years until this winter, yet dare any Londoner mention nay given quantity of snow you can here the "that's nothing!" jibes from 300 miles away! That sounds promising for Ealing, London W5. Might sneak 8-10 cm if that forecast rings true. Reading is only 35 miles from me.
  3. It's amazing how quickly you get used to the temps when there's no breeze isn't it? I walked home from the tube just now thinking oh it's not really that cold, only to then notice a fairly hard frost on the ground and come home to the good lady moaning that I'd left a full washing up bowl outside that is now a solid block of ice!
  4. Well London snow is the holy grail isn't it? I'm just a few miles away from you Rajeev in cool, leafy Ealing/work in concrete, warm Hammersmith. My constant lament about this forum is members reluctance to grasp the sheltered London nettle. Will it be too warm (unlikely at the moment admittedly), will the Chilterns choke off the snow as they do the oft-forecast rarely delivered rain in summer for my garden? (More than possible). Sky are now forecasting disruptive snow for London tomorrow, but this looks a brave forecast to me. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20100104/tuk-heavy-snow-set-to-bring-more-travel-45dbed5.html I still reckon it's 50/50 at best for us in the capital. Anyway, here's hoping.
  5. That link still doesn't work on my iPhone for some reason. Is it me?
  6. yeah I hope members took my post in the humour it was intended From us in the arid Heat Island! (I even moan about lack of rain for my plants in summer)
  7. Figure of speech old chap. You grasp what I'm getting at. Your area is a snow favoured zone, so a few inches there is nice for you but not newsworthy. Now, February 2, 6-12 inches across London, total closedown. 5 million free days off work. That's what I call weather!
  8. He hates cold weather. He drives me mad in fact, saw one forecast the other day where he smiled as he waved his hand over northern Ireland "numbers doing a bit better here". It was four degrees, and raining.
  9. Why all the moaning? I am in LE2 and everything is White. Very pretty new year dusting and it's still snowing. Leicestershire folk look out your window
  10. Not that it will help those of us on the iPhone. Se leics by the way
  11. Cheers andy., I'll look forward to it. I hear that the beeb tv forecast gives us snow tomorrow too, but i haven't seen it myself so I cannot verify it! my birthday tomorrow and it's going back a few years since it snowed on my birthday.
  12. I read that statistically march is the snowiest month in England. I never believed that statistic though
  13. What has that got to do with global warming? surely it's just down to the dew points in your particular area
  14. Snow in Oadby no doubt about it. Any forecasts from you based on the radar andy?
  15. Andy I'm now seeing sleet, but it's about 60/40 in favour of snow now to be honest. I have not been outside to see how cold it is, but perhaps the dream is alive?
  16. Emphatically heavy sleet now just s of andy in Oadby se Leicestershire. Hope this turns to snow because it is moderate to heavy
  17. The rain surely cannot hang on andy. Coventry reporting wet snow and the front edging north. Oakham reporting heavy snow. Come on!
  18. At least we have already had a bit Andy in London, hope for both our sakes we get some tonight. Blizzards in Cardiff I hear!
  19. This is not directed at Andy but for the 1000th time can people p lease state their location in their posts. You cannot see avatar details on the iPhone. in se Leicester at mums hoping the ukmo flash warning comes true!
  20. What a great post again by Teits. Now the GFS may turn out to be right, but to claim "it won't be wrong at this range" as Ian "even larger teapot" Brown has done is patently untrue as Teits has just demonstrated emphatically.
