Morning all. Still no agreement this morning at 168t. UK model below . The UKMO still anchors the East Atlantic trough well west of the British Isles, whereas GFS and ECM shows this on the move eastwards at an increasing pace. In the meanwhile, time to turn the thermostats down a notch or two across much of Euroland this coming week. Hopefully save a £ or old Austrian schilling or two. ! Currently, think so much uncertainly in the models , even at 168t.
Have a nice weekend in Blighty.

Good old Austrian Schilling, I remember when I went skiing in the 80's they were about 20 to the pound.
Easy to work out what I was paying for my Goulash soup and beer, just like pre decimal times.

I'm in St Ives, slap bang in the middle of the hot zone.
Contingency plan is book into an air conditioned hotel for two or three days.
I was in NW Germany back in 2019 when they broke their temperature records. 41c was too much for me then, heat is the number one trigger for my cluster headaches.
Suffering with them now and trust me they ain't no joke when you exceed the safe limit for Sumatriptan injections in a 24hr period

Snowing here when i got up at 7 o'clock
Turned to sleet then little bit more snow, but all stopped now and brightening up

1987 was a benchmark for storms in the same way 1976 is for hot summers.
These more recent events like today need to be judged on their own merits. I remember both of the original events, but I also recall being in NW Germany on their hottest ever day in July 2019.

For crying out loud..home delivery shopping being stood down.
But Mr Amazon is out and about.
It only a few inches and things come to an excusable stop.
Take a look at some American YouTube videos of snow
Then you realise what wimps we are.
Maybe you wouldn't be so keen if it were you out all day making the deliveries

Did anyone else have to put a kettle of hot water on their condensate waste pipe from the boiler this morning? Yeah that was me at 6am this morning, as the boiler was making horrific gurgling noises. Fun. Not.
Nope, mine goes into the waste pipe under the sink

No snow here, wasn't expecting anything so nothing to complain or cheer about.
Can't believe people genuinely get upset over the vagaries of the weather.
Hard to get bothered about something over which you have zero control

Snowed heavily for a two or three hours yet hardly anything has settled. Usually find that the sheer quantity overcomes wet surfaces.

Seems to be quite a contrast in a short distance, it seems we are on the edge, the pictures I posted were lass than an hour ago, might still be worth the trip.
Won't bother now, got to go over to Sawtry tomorrow so will see what its like as I drive through

Amazing, couple of hours of snow in Somersham, but hardly settled, nipped over to Tesco in Ramsey, proper heavy snow, came home via the Raveleys, and it was proper winter wonderland stuff.
I was going to have a stroll over Abbots Ripton earlier, but went to Hilton instead.
Wonder if we will get anything later on as it heads back down south?

Not nice out there this morning. A421 between Cambs and Milton Keynes is resembling a stream. Bring on the light mornings and sunshine
The rainfall doesn't look too bad thankfully despite the Amber warning.
Since the flood warning phone call on Christmas Eve its been bit of a concern.
River is extremely high, all time record was on Dec 23rd, something going seriously wrong here lately.

A rather nippy -7.6c here this morning, coldest start so far of this spell.
Bin lid was frozen shut and took a bit of shifting, thought it might be time for the kettle of hot water.
