  1. A few glasses of wine whilst snow watching, there's nothing like it. Good thing I work from home. Snow is heavier here now, precip is pepping up.
  2. Amen. Precipitation is intensifying now.
  3. Front is clearly pivoting now, heavier precip slowly heading our way.
  4. Looks to me like it's still slowly pushing north.
  5. Nice and heavy snow, accumulating nicely
  6. Fluctuating between light and moderate here. Rooftops, grass and cars are white and pavements now slowly turning white too.
  7. Starting to take a hold now and settling
  8. Snowing steadily here, struggling to settle but there is a little on the cars.
  9. Sadly, it's always the same in there. Someone from here mentioned in there that Wales may get a dumping on Thursday and he was immediately jumped on with something "those are just probabilities". Personally, I have friends and family in many parts of England and would never have any kind of xenophobia towards anyone! I can't help feeling though that us Welsh are snubbed a little in the mod thread! That makes me sad a little. There are posters in there that I respect immensely, and always give an unbiased view. But some of them wouldn't mention Wales if their life depended on it! Quite silly really.
  10. Every snow event of this type is subject to fluctuating corrections north and south a couple of days before, from the models. I remember Jan 2013 being the same. I don't think this will be as memorable though, but you never know.
  11. For once I'm in the dry spot between two masses of precipitation. Glad you're getting some heavy stuff.
  12. Not expecting much out of this tbh, the heavier stuff is below us and it seems to be fragmenting as it moves over us, sadly. Shame.
  13. Now living in Ogmore Vale (originally from Nantymoel), top of the Ogmore Valley. Normally we get much more precipitation than Cardiff - but this is a very different setup.
  14. Ok then, there is still an awful lot of precipitation moving out of the English Channel. What are your thoughts about what it means for Welsh snowfall? Will it fizzle out before it gets here or move elsewhere?
  15. Like I said Andy, it's not directed at anyone personally. It just seems a bit cliquey in here most of the time. It's like walking into a pub where the locals stare at you as if to say "Who the nope - still swearing are you?" lol. Maybe that's a bit extreme but it's a reasonable analogy.
  16. That is certainly part of it, you're right. I'm admin of several large facebook groups so I'm no shrinking violet, but I always feel apprehensive about posting in here. Like you, I have been ignored, even after repeating the same question several times.
  17. Yes, I have been keeping my eye on that and it seems it will provide a nice burst of snow! There's loads of precipitation still below us, I hope that makes its way here also!
  18. Call me Andrew lol. Thanks for the reply.
  19. I have been observing the snow from my window for most of the day whilst working. It has been snowing constantly, sometimes quite heavily. But it never seemed to be accumulating outside. So I took a step outside and had a shock, and realised that the wind causing drifting of powder snow was causing quite deep drifts that I wasn't aware of! It was quite something though to see snowing being horizontally blown by a strong howling wind!
  20. It's been a good event here, drifts of about a foot. Is it better than 2010? No. I was living in Thornhill in Cardiff then and the level snow was over a foot deep. Cardiff has done really well out of this and I'm glad tbh. I was down in Cardiff at 9am this morning and it was pretty bad then. I'm on jury service at the moment and all Cardiff Crown Court trials have been cancelled until Monday. I don#t think there's much danger of the courts resuming in the morning. I'm sorry that the whole of Wales has not been able to report the same amount of snow. However, at the time of writing it is 1:46am and there is more to come yet. There is a huge amount of precipitation moving up from France, but it's questionable if it will get here. I used to post in here years ago but not done so much for a while. I'll tell you the reason, and I'm not directing this at anyone personally, but it is very cliquey in here. There are a group of you that know each other well in here and to be honest it almost feels like I'm intruding on your space. I would like to post more but I do feel a bit excluded. As for the model thread, forget it! There is absolutely no point. Anyway, I hope most of us are enjoying the snow. This is a rare event in the UK when the daytime max does not exceed -4ºC. Personally, I'm snowed in up in Ogmore Vale so I'm on the wine!
  21. People on facebook are driving me barmy! Even calling me a liar for saying this is going to happen. And even after showing them the radar of what's coming up beneath us they still won't believe me!
  22. Model thread is bonkers! Today it's like having a jury with one person disagreeing with the other 11, and they are all try to change his mind!
  23. I noticed that your post was deleted almost straight away. A 24 hour ban is a bit heavy just for that!
