  1. well you might get another one soon. Storms used to be very frequent here in Blackpool according to my mother. I bet you get loads of snow in winter where you are.
  2. I remember that storm there was reports on the news about it, looked awesome. It was really warm that week and i expected to get a storm here that night as it clouded up but nothing as usual

  5. I remember the wintry showers on xmas day 04 no lying snow in Blackpool but on boxing day there was lying snow in Preston just a few miles inland. I bet you have had some decent storms where you are compared to when you were in Lancaster and more snow too. lol
  6. Well storms in Blackpool certainly arent as frequent as they used to be. My mum says in the 60s 70s and 80s there were loads of decent storms in Blackpool, she says theres hardly anything now compared to what it was like back then, oh and there was a lot more snow about then too and i love snow in winter, well looking at peoples pictures of snowfall on netweather gallery. lol
  7. Really? I thought you would of been in a good location for storms coming in from the south or south west. I always envy people who live in or around your area because of lots of storms. I bet you get more than me this summer anyway !
  8. If u do get some decent storms then please could you send one north to me, cape not looking too good for me again for sunday it all seems to happen further south.
  9. Im still in the no storms club, apart from a few distant rumbles last year. I cant remember an overhead storm here in Blackpool they all seem to pass to the east of us and i can hardly hear them. I dont even recall hail falling here let alone an inch covering  I hope to have at least one decent storm this year!
  10. Excellent pics, would love to see clouds like that here.
  11. That band of rain over Ireland is moving across in a very straight line on the radar. Cloudy and cool here currently 7c, hope the sun comes out later.
  12. yes ive heard about the 1981 event wish i was old enough to witness that. As for 12th march 2006 , yes that was good about 4 ins but it turned to rain and melted same day.Nothing i can remember beats early feb 96, would love to see some pics or weather forecasts from then if anyone has them.
  13. 6th feb 96 it started snowing just before dinnerbreak i was in my last year at school. By the end of dinnerbreak it was starting to settle, and by hometime there was roughly 4 ins laying snow and still snowing. That night it continued to snow and got deeper. The next morning i woke up and expected it to have melted, how wrong was i, it was still snowing and was over a foot deep level snow and deep drifts. It wasnt till late the following night that it stopped snowing and the snow lasted on the ground for almost a week and this was in Blackpool of all places!! Anyone else remember this event in the north west?
