  1. one rumble of thunder and heavy rain in Blackpool!
  2. thunder heard in blackpool at 14:00! and just now!
  3. Small flakes here but plenty of them, blowing in all directions on a strong breeze! nothing has stuck so far today!
  4. If anyone remembers, there were a couple of nights of severe fog just before the december cold spell.
  5. If i remember correctly during the December cold spell we were watching the showers coming in from the east and very few made it across the pennines. The winds turned to the north a short time later bringing us snow via Irish sea streamers on 21st dec then a narrow band of fairly intense snow moved up from the south on the evening of the 23rd. Prior to this were we looking at similar model outputs to the ones showing on the charts now? (if this makes any sense!)
  6. coming down thick and fast and starting to stick to most surfaces except roads!
  7. Anyone got any thoughts on snow potential for the first part of this week, say from mon afternoon to weds? Granada weather say things could get wintry for the rush hour tomorrow, and gfs showing a band of snow moving down on tues afternoon and a band of snow moving up during weds, it shows the temps to be hovering between 3-5c but not sure of dew points.
  8. That was an awesome tornado outbreak 26-04-91 f5 twister. I watch this footage regular, absolutely awesome.
  9. It was tiny yet so powerful, it stripped a small tree completely, luckily it didnt hit the car or the consequences could have been a lot worse, it seems the only damage to the vehicle was a cracked windscreen.
  10. Anyone any thoughts on tues night/weds regarding the possible snow event here in the north west?

  12. I too love storms at night, we had one here last july in the early hours constantly lighting the room up and amazing to watch. A level 3 estofex warning would be nice for a change.

  14. -6 here now dew point -8 thats very cold very early for the coast, how low can it go.
  15. I noticed that it can only really come from the NE i would have thought, still anything is possible as this mornings episode proved.
  16. Yes im hoping for some more, keep watching the radar, we have done really well for lying snow on the coast this early in the season.
  17. Persistant snow this morning, gave a good 2 -3 inches at least. Has anyone tried to ride a pushbike in these conditions? its hard work il tell you especially with a heavy bag of mail on the front . Anyway hope everyone got their fair share and it looks like all eyes on the precipitation heading in from the NE.
