It doesn't have the same feel as April 2007, where temps of over 25C were recorded, this could be a funny month, one of the warmest Aprils, yet the temperature so far has failed to surpass 22C
Yeah, as we go into May don't forget we are easily capable of surpassing 30C. I would guess that it would definately be in the first half of May, May 7th as I said earlier. At the moment it looks as if the south will remain fairly warm and dry for the coming weeks, the average for late April down here is about 16C so we aren't doing too bad although this kind of weather is fairly normal in late April.
As for 90F? I think it will be reached in early July in London area
generally I would expect 25C to have been reached in the South east by the end of May at least... probably 15 minutes away from me at Heathrow or somewhere else in London
Last year we hardly got any warm and settled weather here, apart from the end of July and sometime in August where it only just touched 30 for a day or two, and then it was only about 25-28C for about 10 days and then back to cloudy skies and rain
Haha, that is probably the only downpoint of summer, it is great during the day if you're like me and love soaring temps into the 30s, but night time temps in the low-mid 20s are very unpleasant, and even with the window open it is very hard to sleep
I don't think I can remember a time when we didn't hit 30C down here in London in a Summer. Of course the summers here can be very different compared to up north where average max are about 20-21C compared to 23C here. I hope that we get an extended Summer that lasts from May to September. I personally don't mind the humid weather, but it does get very uncomfortable down here trying to sleep with temps of over 20C during the night.
Well I live in a built up area, and the criteria for Met stations is very strict compared to other countries. I do not have a perception that Spring is warmer than it should be, average April temps here are around 12-13 at the start of the month, and 15-16 at the end of the month according to all other sites except the Met.
So I was right  anyway back on topic, the upcoming mild/warm spell could last longer down here in the south east than the rest of the UK, but minimum temperatures are likely to be relatively low, so the CET will probably be around average for the first 10 days or so.
Average highs in London range from 13 at the beggining of the month to 17 towards the end, I'd expect most of the temps to be in this range, but I think later on in the month we might get a warm spell, and next week there is a chance of the first 70 of the year.
I agree, it felt a lot warmer than 15C! I would love to have an August 2003, a stormy July and a warm June, I can't remember what 38C felt like 6 years ago..
Hey, well in late August, I'm going to Italy, on the coastline about 50 miles south of Pisa, starting on the 20th August. I was wondering if anyone knew what I can expect in the way of max temps, humidity, sea temp, Uv, storms e.t.c? Thanks a lot.
