  1. Those are quite some pics Jurgen! I especially like the way you have captured the deep colors of the storm clouds, they certainly look like they would give an excellent electrical show!
  2. I see things are firing back up today to the north of me on the radar East Anglia/ East midlands currently at 26 strikes/min... Similar to what we got yesterday!! Only this time it's much more 'home grown.
  3. WOW those clouds are quite something looks like some kinda atom bomb! Certainly looks lie the start of a storm with any luck or maybe nuclear war, but more likely storm.
  4. T-Storms headed off now, so hope u guys get it pretty soon, i can't seem to work out what direction it's going in, radar would suggest NE but looks more like S too mee so good luck!!
  5. Frequent lightning here, biggest thunderstorm of the year without a doubt. Not sure exactly how--most UNexpeted Zero CAPE so HOW??!! I've been searhing for storms with CAPE over 1000 and LI in large negatives and got nothing... Lost count but i recon about 15 strikes seen out my S acing window.
  6. 4 good flashes and rumbles... pretty good for around here i tell you, and i'm on the 'right' side of London with my S facing window for once!! Bang! make that five :]
  7. HHm was just about to start moaning about how un-servere the severe weather is as usual but a flash lit up the sky as i glanced up at it! Still downgraded to 11mm from about 40mm of rain tommorow. Not exactly gunu be flooding the rivers over & up hardly! ...boom!! level 5 severity?!! psss... wow actually those must be some big bolt cos i can here and see them so many milesss away. should probably move this 2 storm area not moan area?!
  8. SE London got the big hail and thunder we got more the torrential downpours...
  9. im not sure but it looks like some crazy creatures larvae about to hatch  Watch it and seeee! may-be a new pet im thinking...
  10. Long Heavy shower here just heard first bit of thunder but i doubt there's much more to come from look at radar, Still today could see my first proper thunderstorm (my area hasn't had much) tonnes of rain going out to Maidenhead yesterday but no thunder.
  11. Incredibly heavy showers/rain almost tropical on my cycle to North-westish london not a single rumble of thunder rumble after some of the crazy forcasts such as 'risk of strong tornado's' and severe t-storms i was def expecting more were there any signif. t-storms in southern england? i only saw radar at around 2pm + i know the north had lots ofc
  12. lol just told my dad there could be tornado's today and he just went mmm. not here. Thats the kinda pessimism i come 2 expect He's almost definately right though and it wouldn't be the first time i've told him that, whilst being under SLIGHT risk NW london i think does better than SW usually, therefore i will attempt to cycle to nw london.
  13. yehr i saw that! (well i didn't literally see a flare whilst staring at the sun) The biggest flare of the solar cycle so far! http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif Activity has generaly been going steadily back down today since that unfortunately. http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif Hope there is more like this to come in the nearish future.
  14. Thankyou! Yes i suppose you're right, now is the time for minimums, if only i had been alive & aware to fully appreciate the solar max's of modern history http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif Weren't so great at monitoring it and making the general public aware of it then though, and i think many people have come in hoping to see the big solar max's repeat themselves as scientists a few years ago thought they would. http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif \The sun clearly doesn't care for our plans for it's activity!
  15. Aye those some nice B class flares over the last 12 hours or so, hope the new region grows to produce the first real C classes of SC 24 but we shall see.. http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif oh it would also be good if we could get more than 24 spot count some time showing were coming out of this painfully long minimum.
  16. Some thunder for my part of the SE last night, not really enough to TALK about unfortunately [i hate that].. But I thought, at least, was exciting watching that main storm in the channel classed as strong and intensifying last night! :o I know it would have made a night to remember if it had rolled right across the UK last night, which at the time was very hard to say and i'd put chances around 50:50 it would have done. We'll just have to see what it brings us here in the UNITED kingdom particularly in the next hot spell, hopefully less disappointments.
  17. I Really hope the thunder comes and wakes me up im going 2 get some sleep, i can just imagine getting up @ 7 30 no storms , geez i shouldn't be so pessimistic there's some MASSIVE cells out there...but ZZzzz///rwaehj
  18. Whoa strong and intensifying?! where's it going though????!!! On the radar it was moving NW now east... wtf!! ^^ hopefully it will make landfall somewhere at some point in the future, preferably before i go to sleeeep..
  19. I would but my cards on (far) West Sussex personally for the storms but we shall see!
  20. Not sure but i think the bulk of them will actually be heading for SW England as they've already started to pivot west... not so great for mea but def good for SW England , after all they were the one's forecast storms for today don't forget
  21. Haha! that sounds awesome i wanna come 2 your weather fest 2!
  22. Yes! SE COULD be in for a treating tonight! haven't rele seen any thunderstorms this year and the prospect of a thunderstorms around midnight is the best (even tho infact it means it will be weakening, but more fun if don't think technical) having said that it's got a cold unforgiving channel to cross, please make it!
  23. Please continue the storms discussion for this evening and next few days. I like the look of the storms coming off France right now to SE England, only too bad it's night time now..
