18.5ºC and calm here.

Interestingly, we have already had two nights here so far this year where the temperature has been above 20ºC gone midnight, so tonight isn't amazingly warm.

Hopefully there will be no afternoon cloud tomorrow to spoil things and we might see a 27/28ºC?

Have you had a cloudy time too??? I'm quite convinced if it hadn't been so cloudy for the last fortnight we'd have had some unbearable heat up here.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Not really, we've had our fair share of sunshine in the last fortnight either side of a very cool and rainy four day spell, however today had a fair bit of afternoon cloud which pegged the temperature back.....26.4º at 2pm, didn't get any higher.

Just wondered, it's been quite disappointing up here. I think the best way to describe it has been cloudshine, bright but not very sunny (but warm at the same time)

I really need to invest in a weather station, then I could be more technical!!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Best thing I ever did, takes the guesswork out of it. I actually know just how hot or cold it is, rather than wondering whether the temperature is actually as forecasted.

One thing to note though, many people get spurious high readings from personal weather stations, due to the location of their sensors. If the sensor isn't in a proper radiation shield, in a well ventilated area away from buildings and is not at the correct height of 4ft, then the readings are as much use as a chocolate teapot, and to my mind you might as well not have a personal weather station. No point in having a weather station that tells lies. And its a crime to upload those lies to the internet.

Yeah, that would cause a few problems, its safe to say.

I take it though that you must have a balcony though?

Nothing to stop you getting a simple max/min thermometer from B&Q, attaching a simple home made shield somewhere outside, like against the balcony wall, and sticking the thermometer in that. It would give you a decent indication. Or you could get a digital thermometer sensor and do the same. All relatively cheap, and will give you a good idea of what the temperature is.
