A raging gale now for over 2 days, with the average wind speed these last 2 days of 55 mph !

wind currently NNE 50 mph with gusts to 65 mph

Pressure 1007 rising slowly

Temp 5 C

Constant Driving rain and hail

the atlantic has been hidden all day by white spray

:(

I know what you mean! Its the same here, steady 40-45mph winds gusting 50-55mph and it just hasnt let up since about 2am this morning. If we're lucky it might moderate a bit tomorrow! Who says living in remote islands is boring!

2.4 degrees here, up from 0.3 degrees at 6pm. Breezy, appears to be raining or sleet, but no bloody snow! Roll on the next cold front!

... Roll on next Friday, into next weekend if this chart's correct (the Low's meant to move in from Southern Greenland):

I just presumed that the Low would only bring rain as it doesn't appear (to my untrained eye) to have much northerly flow to it, and i presume the atlantic is still quite warm ....tell me i'm wrong please

The GFS does suggest a brief spell of NE'lies after next weekend (3rd/4th December).

Finally we have precipitation here in GlenStratosdale, and it's....

...

...

splatty rain. Just spent five minutes with halogen lights beaming at the velux and, for all the wishful thinking in the world, there's nothing but rain. it would be a major shock if we got any snow hereabouts now.

3C and rain here in Leeds- nothing particularly exciting.

The temperature in South Shields jumped as I expected- it warmed up to 4-5C as the warm sector came over and a whiff of easterly component appeared in the wind, but once the wind became a NE'ly, both online South Shields stations reported a leap to 7C.

Report for Friday 25th November 2005, Readings taken at 23:55.

A cold and clear start was interupted by a suprise heavy snow shower which lasted well over half an hour and gave the first covering of snow (~1cm) in November here for many years. The rest of the day was partly cloudy with sunny periods until later on when it clouded over. The evening saw the arrival of a mixture of rain and sleet, eventually turning solely to rain. It was another cold day, with the temperature gradually rising from around 5pm onwards. This was matched by the dewpoint, which after a minimum of -5.0°C at 00:50 last night steadily increased throughout the day.

Current Temp: 4.4°C

Max Temp: 5.1°C (at 23:11)

Min Temp: -0.5°C (at 08:33)

Humidity: 89%

Min Humidity: 68% (at 01:02)

Pressure: 987.2hPa (Steady)

Dewpoint: 2.7°C

Wind: N (14mph)

Rain Today: 4.6mm

My November average currently stands at 7.2°C (+0.2°C Above the 1971-2000 average).

Currently 6.5C here. Getting the odd sleet shower coming in. Lovely covering of snow this morning. Snow covering reduced greatly as I headed down into Belfast, Increasing as I rose up the other side. Had my snowball fight with the nephew, I won  . Got my wife to the airport and she is now in Edinburgh.
