Well, last night it eventually dipped to -6.1C after only reaching 5.4C during the day. Currently -2.1C and freezing (I assume) fog with a visibility of around 100m. Not a puff of wind.

Here in Crawley, the heavy rain that the Met Office gave a severe warning for, didn't materialise (well there's a suprise  ), and all we had last night was drizzle for a while. It is now 7c, misty/foggy.

It's snowing here! Proper lovely light flakes, floating down...proper snow!

The fog has lifted to a very low cloud base, it is -1.5C and it is settling!

7C in Lancaster, light NE breeze. Light rain shower, would probably have turned to sleet if it had been heavier, but the main shower area was to the south of us. Now clearing up.

Currently it's 4.1C but chucking it down with not even any sign of sleetiness...weird! When it clears though, the Pennines should be nicely covered in white stuff....I'll let you know!

Min of 3c last night.

Max of 4c today - what's going on :?:

Heavy rain since 1330 has just stopped.

Radar run amazing showing the rain spiralling round the low - did I detect an "eye"?

Only 3c now - must be chance of snow on the high ground in the SW.

its quite grey and overcast. 4°C. Daz you are probably right the cloud are made of ice to the base but they are probably too high too produce anything like snow.
