A max' of 28.2c here, which is 0.3c below the July record since 1977.

1976 would have had a max' around 29.8c, I was recording at a different site then but comparison with other local sites indicates a max' around that value on July 3rd 1976.

Some way to go to beat that, but this is getting interesting, even to someone who revels in extreme cold.

Current temperature ( at 1745 g.m.t ) is 27.0c, last night's min' was 16.0c. Continuous sunshine since 0815 b.s.t after early morning altocumulus had cleared.

Vis' is 40 miles, highest gust today, 12 mph at 0956 g.m.t.

Report for Monday 17th July 2006, Readings taken at 23:55.

Apart from occasional haze, it was a clear day from start to finish. The maximum temperature today of 29.5°C was the highest of the summer so far and not far off the July record maximum. Fortunately due to the low humidity and a light breeze it didnt feel too oppressive.
